MOAB-Class Bloons, also called blimps or simply MOABs, are a class of Bloons. They are typically larger than regular Bloons and have large amounts of health. MOAB-Class Bloons were introduced in Bloons TD 3 with the MOAB, which became their namesake. They have appeared in every Bloons TD game after that, along with many other games in the Bloons franchise including the Bloons Supermonkey series, Bloons Pop!, and Bloons Card Storm.
Subcategories
There are two main categories of MOAB-class bloons:
- Regular MOABS - A type of MOAB-class bloon that spawns in normal gameplay, where multiple can be on the screen at the same time.
- Boss Bloon - A type of MOAB-class bloon that spawns in special events in the Bloons TD series, or at the end of each Chapter in Bloons Supermonkey 2. They possess larger than usual health, and have special bloon formations and/or special abilities that include stuns, redirecting or reflecting projectiles, or stealing buffs. Only one Boss Bloon can be seen at a time in normal gameplay, although the Lych-soul and Dreadrock Bloons are technically classified as Boss Bloons despite being spawned from their respective bosses.
Characteristics
MOAB-Class bloons share most of the same properties, these being:
- A slower than usual speed than non MOAB-Class bloons
- More health than non MOAB-Class bloons
- Immunity or resistance against certain attacks that cannot affect MOAB-Class bloons or have a reduced effect
- Vulnerability against certain attacks that only affect MOAB-Class bloons
- Generally resemble a Blimp, although there are some exceptions that are instead simply filled with Bloons, such as the Yeti.
