The Desperado is an upcoming Wild West-themed monkey in Bloons TD 6. It is set to be introduced in version 49.0, which is planned to release in mid-June 2025.[2]

The Desperado is a Primary[3] tower that attacks with a pistol. Each upgrade path grants it a different weapon alongside its starting pistol. It has a strong focus on range.[1]

Physical appearance

Desperados are monkeys with tan fur, grey skin, and brown eyes. The basic Desperado wears a brown cowboy hat, a red bandanna around its neck, and a belt with a holster for its pistol. It has an upgrade that changes its hat to a ten-gallon hat with a green band.

Development

The Desperado was originally planned to be released alongside the Frontier Legends DLC (while it was still named Desperado Legends);[4] however, due changes in the game's development pipeline, Ninja Kiwi decided to release the tower first and release the DLC towards the end of 2025.[2]

This Monkey is a gun-slinging, Bloon-poppin’ buccaroo. Starting with a humble pistol, each path upgrades into a different weapon alongside the pistol, giving significant variety to play style and effectiveness against different Bloons. Range factors strongly into each path, emphasizing the characteristics of each path’s weapon upgrade. Design and implementation on this new tower is moving ahead strongly, it has already been in testing and balance loops for a couple of weeks, and we are concentrating on how that balance flows through into all game modes.     The Lasso is a tool of a Cowboy, but Desperado is not a Cowboy. They are not herding cows, so have no need for one!

    Outside of battle do Desperado Monkey’s have tamed horse companions? Have they also tamed other creatures to Ride? Like maybe the Beast Handler creatures?
    They have tamed many horses, their favourite animal to bond with and ride! We are unsure if that is for the aesthetic or just stopping while you're ahead!
