Golden Blimp is a Large Blooncard in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 6.0. It gains +65 Health for every one Gold spent to place it. Its cost is equal to the player's current Gold. Once played, its Gold value becomes the amount that the player initially spent. Re-playing it by a Power will not add further Health, but it will generate Bloontonium equal to the Gold cost it had when it was created.
The card artwork portrays a Golden Blimp moving through clouds towards an island.
Spending more Gold is recommended to maximize its Health gains. For instance, a 10-cost Golden Blimp starts with 700 Health, or up to 1350 Health at max Gold.
Golden Blimp at lower costs is a functional blimp, with it at lower costs being a useful shield for Camo Bloons. At 6 cost, it has 60 less health than MOAB, making it still a threat if protecting other Camo Bloons.
Bloontonium gains are altered based on Gold cost, so it can be used to control how much Bloontonium is generated. Being able to generate a lot of Bloontonium at once is beneficial for Heroes that depend on high Bloontonium, such as Striker Jones.
At max Gold, Golden Blimp fills enough Bloontonium to overflow the Bloontonium capacity of any Hero except Striker Jones.
It is highly recommended to use this in any Tempo deck, as the flexibility with its cost, high health in the more expensive costs, and quick speed compared to other high cost Bloons make it an extremely solid choice. It also pairs well with MOAB Construction Facility because of how deadly it can be with how much health it can hold.
This card originally gained 50 health per gold spent, but it was increased to 70 health per gold spent the update released due to feedback from community playtesters.[1] The original health bonus was displayed in the update video.[2]
During the late stages of the Version 6.2 playtests,[3] the Golden Blimp was proposed by a community playtester to have its Health gains nerfed from +70 to +65. A proposal to nerf its delay from 4 to 5 was done, but was never implemented as testers felt that was part of Golden Blimp’s identity.[3]
