This article is about the resource in Bloons Card Storm. For the resource in the Bloons TD series, see Cash. For other uses, see Gold (disambiguation).
The number in the gold coin is the player's current stock of Gold. The number in the green coin is their economy. This player currently has 3 Gold and will gain 7 more Gold at the start of the next turn.

Gold is a resource used in matches in Bloons Card Storm. The player can spend Gold during their turn to play cards if they can afford the card's Gold cost. Most cards have a Gold cost ranging from 0 to 18, but a few cards cost Bloontonium instead. Players earn Gold at the start of their turn based on their economy (also called income), and any Gold not spent carries over to the next round. Certain card effects and Hero abilities can also generate Gold.

Mechanics

[edit | edit source]

Each player starts the match with 1 economy, and the player that will go second starts with 1 Gold. At the start of a player's turn (including the first turn), that player gains Gold equal to their current economy, then their economy increases by 1, capping at 10 at the start of round 9. As a result, the first player effectively starts with 1 Gold, while the other player starts with 2 Gold. Unspent Gold carries over between rounds. Each player can hold up to 20 Gold at a time.

If the player plays a Bloon card, that player's Hero gains Bloontonium equal to the amount of Gold spent to play the Bloon. This is affected by card effects that alter a Bloon card's Gold cost, such as the Discount Bloon and Setup Bloon's effects.
