The Paragon Power Totem, also known as the Totem, is a Geraldo's Shop item in Bloons TD 6. The Paragon Power Totem is a sub-tower of Geraldo and does not attack or directly influence Bloons in any way. When any Paragon is created, all Paragon Power Totems placed on the map are sacrificed and they provide 2,000 Paragon Power each to the paragon. A placed Paragon Power Totem has a buff icon with a number, indicating the current number of totems placed.
Strategy
Paragon Power Totems are expensive but provide a significant boost to any Paragon. On all Paragons except those that cost less than $260,000 on Medium (i.e. Apex Plasma Master, Crucible of Steel and Flame), placing Paragon Power Totems is a more cost-effective way to increase Paragon Power than sacrificing cash value. Also, the Power boost from Paragon Power Totems is separate from any other source, meaning they can combine with any other sacrifices to increase a Paragon's degree farther than otherwise possible. Degree 100 Paragons are only possible with the use of Paragon Power Totems when in single-player mode.
The totem counter helps plan how many of them to sacrifice. 100 Paragon Power Totems are required to guarantee Degree 100, but only about 30–40 are needed in combination with conventional methods of maximizing degrees.
Paragon Power Totems are very helpful during Boss Events when sacrificed to the most expensive Paragon(s). They should be purchased every round once available. However, the player should be careful not to overspend on them if income is insufficient, as they may run out of money to buy the Paragon itself or other important towers. Also, since nothing is refunded from Paragons, Paragon Totems should ideally be reserved for permanent Paragons. Aim for degrees in groups of 20 against Bosses, with ideally degrees 60 and 80 for the most expensive DPS-focused Paragons such as Goliath Doomship.
Paragon Power Totems are irrelevant in Freeplay. The investments required are too much, compared to the extreme late-game strength of Ezili or Adora, and the extra 9 max degrees is negligible.
