  • Bloons games themselves tend to be really inconsistent about capitalization (except in Bloons Card Storm, for the most part). You keep editing pages to capitalize "banana" citing how it's capitalized in-game in BTD6, but there are plenty of cases in BTD6 where "banana" is uncapitalized (the descriptions of Fertilizer and Banana Farmer Pro, for example). I know this isn't covered by the style guide right now, but I don't think there's a need to keep capitalization on the wiki consistent for general terminology, only for the names of things like towers and upgrades. Personally, I think capitalizing things that aren't proper nouns, like "path X" and "tier X", doesn't look right, but that hasn't really been standardized on the wiki (mostly because there hasn't been any disputes over it thus far).
  • The example in the style guide of using hyphens was meant specifically for listing out tier numbers ("0-0-0 Dart Monkey"), not literally every instance where upgrade paths and tiers are mentioned. I've rewritten the style guide to make that more clear.

Otherwise, I appreciate your edits. If there's anything else I can change in the style guide to make the intent more clear, lmk. Polavux (talk) 03:10, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Also, I forgot to add, don't change "This upgrade does X" because that part of the text gets transcluded to other parts of the wiki (for example, that part of the text on Banana Central (BTD6) gets transcluded to Banana Farm (BTD6)). It's written that way so it looks natural on every page the text gets transcluded onto. Also, I just think it makes more sense to phrase it that way because the upgrade is what does X to the tower, X doesn't just happen to the tower out of nowhere when you get the upgrade. Okay, apologies. And my prose—was that an issue with the standards too? Because you removed all of that too. ShoeBoxHero (talk) 03:34, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I wasn't removing your prose specifically, I rewrote most of the sections you edited because they didn't work well with the transclusion thing I just mentioned, even before you edited them. Polavux (talk) 03:36, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't see how it didn't work well besides the "This upgrade does X" as you mentioned. Is there a style guide for transclusion I can refer to so I may correct my mistakes and ensure the pages are written the way you need them to be? ShoeBoxHero (talk) 03:43, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see what you mean. I reverted the prose you added about the banana farm transforming into a BRF or Banana Central because what upgrades count as "transformations" seems arbitrary and hard to define, and it isn't very useful information either way because it doesn't have any gameplay significance, so I don't think it's right for the wiki to try to denote which upgrades are transformations and which ones aren't. I think I mixed up BRF and Banana Central when rewriting them, though, and ended up removing the total cash value you added to Banana Central, so I re-added that. (sorrie)
For the top path upgrades, I don't think there's any point in stating both how many more bananas the upgrades add and the total number. Writing that it increases the bananas per round "from 4 to 6", "from 6 to 8", and "from 8 to 16" conveys the same information in fewer words. The total cash production per round can stay, though, since that information is more useful to have at a glance.
There isn't an up-to-date style guide for upgrade pages at the moment, since transclusion was something we decided to do very recently. Unfortunately, no one on staff has had the time or motivation to write one because we've all been busy with college :pensive: Polavux (talk) 04:07, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
