Double Blue does not possess many standout qualities. Most combos involving Double Bloons are more efficient with other types, and an unbuffed Double Blue does less damage than a normal Yellow Bloon, while effectively taking twice the damage as a normal bloon would. It's still strong if buffed, such as Zee Jay's Passive Awesomeness and Booster Bloon.
For combo decks using Quick Ready, Double Yellow Bloon costs the same as Double Blue + Fortify with the same HP, but grants 2 extra Bloontonium without needing an extra card.
For Amelia Double Bloon strategies, two Double Red Bloons or one Double Green Bloon are less awkward for unlocking her Bloon Shield.
Double Blue Bloon does stand out in niche cases, besides just extra variety for early-game Double Bloons.
Double Blue survives versus two unbuffed Dart Monkey Twins and pairs well with Fortify as a followup; this stands out on exactly Round 2 for both players.
