Blops are the main currency in Bloons Super Monkey and the mobile version of Bloons Supermonkey 2, and the main form of gaining Levels during a stage in Bloons Blitz. In the Flash version of Bloons Super Monkey 2, Blops convert to Blop Cash when collected instead of acting as their own currency.

Blops, also called Power Blops, are used to purchase upgrades on the pause screen.

[edit | edit source]

Blops are divided into three categories: red, blue, and gold.

  • Red Blops are the most common and can be earned by playing a level and collecting popped Bloons' blops for the first time or when doing so while replaying a level where the Beacon is active, tapping hidden Bloons scattered across the level select screen in increments of 50 Red Blops per Bloon, or from the Mega Blop Bonus Power, which grants 1,000 Red Blops when collected. The player can use them to buy weapons and their upgraded versions, alongside Epic Weapons.
  • Blue Blops are earned by replaying levels and collecting previously collected Blops. The player can use them for research and buying skins for Supermonkey.
  • Gold Blops are typically the least common earned from hitting and popping Golden Bloons, from hidden achievements, from placing on the Endless Mine leaderboard, and from the Golden Mega Blop Bonus Power, which grants 2,000 Gold Blops when collected. Each Gold Blop is worth 4 Red Blops and 4 Blue Blops.

When a Blop is released from a Bloon, it will fall to the bottom of the screen, where it will bounce once before going off screen if it's not collected, it can also bounce off the sides of the screen should it reach either side.

Red and Blue Blops can also be produced in varying amounts by performing Blop experiments, which the player can only choose one of the two types and wait four real life hours before collection. Both types can also be directly purchased or converted between the two colors for real money. In the case of Blop conversion, the player must have the amount of blops of the color they are converting from before being able to purchase a conversion. They both can also be earned from the store, if they attempt to make a purchase using Blops without having the amount needed, or have the amount the player has collected collected after completing a level doubled by watching optional ads.

Certain Powerups can affect the rate at which the player collects Blops. For instance, Blop Magnet expands the Blop collection radius, and Red Rush and Gold Rush convert all Blue Blops into Red Blops and all Blops into Gold Blops, respectively.
