The Magus Perfectus is the Wizard Monkey's Paragon in Bloons TD 6, introduced in 37.0. It is a combination of Archmage, Wizard Lord Phoenix, and Prince of Darkness.
The Magus Perfectus is the Wizard Monkey's Paragon in Bloons TD 6, introduced in 37.0. It is a combination of Archmage, Wizard Lord Phoenix, and Prince of Darkness. The Magus Perfectus features a unique mana mechanic and can swap between two different attack modes. The primary mode consumes mana for its upgraded Arcane Spike attack and Dark Phoenix, as well as summoning Undead Bloons. The secondary mode restores mana with a weak Draining Beam attack.

The Magus Perfectus has two Activated Abilities. The Phoenix Explosion ability uses all mana to summon Undead ZOMGs and detonate the Phoenix, burning all nearby Bloons. The Arcane Metamorphosis ability uses all mana to merge the Wizard and Phoenix for a powerful flame cascade attack.

Mechanics
Mana
Mana bar with paragon portrait visible
The Magus Perfectus can store up to 99,999 mana, and starts with full mana when purchased. Mana is consumed by most attacks, and can be restored via the Draining Beam. While the Magus Perfectus has at least 50,000  mana, the attack cooldowns of its main attacks (but not Phoenix attacks) are halved.

Arcane Spike
proj arcane+undeads
The Magus Perfectus' main attack is an upgraded Arcane Spike, with much greater damage and a stronger homing effect. Each bolt homes towards targets from anywhere and rotates up to 360 °/s. This attack consumes 50 mana.

When this attack pops a Bloon, the Magus Perfectus summons an Undead Bloon in its place, which follows the path in reverse. Each Undead Bloon uses 250 mana. However, the Undead Bloons can not be affected by Degree.

At Degree 1:
*The Arcane Spike attack is shot every 0.275s, dealing 100 damage, +300 MOAB-class damage and +150 Boss damage, and 25 pierce.
*Undead Bloons move at 25 units/s, the same speed as Red Bloons, and last up to 16 seconds. Each deals 150 damage, +150 Boss damage, and has 50 pierce.

Dark Phoenix
dphoenix attacks
The Dark Phoenix circles anticlockwise around the Magus Perfectus, attacks Bloons with its fire breath, and periodically fires a radial burst of 8 fireballs. The radial burst uses no mana, while the fire breath uses 50 mana per attack. The fire breath always targets First.

At Degree 1:
*The fire breath deals 200 damage, +50 Boss damage, and has 100 pierce, at a rate of every 0.2s. These flames do not home.
*The radial fireball attack occurs every 2s.
*The fireballs each deal 400 damage, +400 Boss damage, have 100 pierce, with slow projectile speed (85 units/s) and a large radius (30 units).

Draining Beam
drainbeam
The Draining Beam can be toggled on or off, disabling all other attacks while it is active. It will automatically toggle upon reaching full or empty mana.

The Draining Beam is a continuous laser that restores 250 mana per attack, but deals relatively weak damage. The beam extends from the Wizard to the targeted Bloon, with a range of 120 units (50% more than other attacks). While described as a single-target attack, it functions as a laser that can gain pierce with degree. The attack has a minimum cooldown of 0.05s, meaning its rate will not normally be affected by degree or mana; it will consistently restore 5,000 mana per second.

At Degree 1, the Draining Beam does 100 damage and has 1 pierce. Its radius is 6 units.

Phoenix Explosion
Phoenix Explosion (referred to as Phoenix Rebirth internally) consumes all mana to detonate the Phoenix, inflicting Bloons within 100 distance units of the Phoenix with a damage over time effect and spawning one Undead ZOMG for every 9,000 mana consumed (maximum of 10). The effect deals damage every 0.5 seconds for 30 seconds,<!--what about 30.05s? does all the ticks--> but it cannot damage Purple Bloons or Blastapopoulos. The Undead ZOMGs follow the path in reverse at the speed of a Red Bloon and split into four Undead BFBs after consuming all pierce or after 10 seconds. Undead BFBs also move at the speed of a Red Bloon, have the same radius as a ZOMG, but last for 7 seconds and have lower pierce and damage. The Phoenix regenerates after 10 seconds. This ability has a base cooldown of 40 seconds.

At Degree 1:
*The damage-over-time does 3500 damage per tick.
*Each Undead ZOMG does 8000 damage, +8000 Boss damage, and has 200 pierce.
*Each Undead BFB does 1400 damage and has 50 pierce.

Arcane Metamorphosis
Arcane Metamorphosis merges the Phoenix with the Magus Perfectus, replacing its main attack with two much more powerful attacks: twin flame cascade attack and an attack that leaves Walls of Fire on the track when the flame touches Bloons, with a 0.1s cooldown between spawning new Walls of Fire. Walls of Fire last for up to 9s with 0.1s rehit and pierce refresh rates.

During the ability, 4,000 mana is consumed every second (6,666 with Master Builder's Power Glove), cannot produce more mana while the ability is active, and ends when it runs out of mana; at 96,001<!--96k is 24--> mana or greater, it lasts for 25 seconds. This ability has a base cooldown of 90 seconds.

At Degree 1:
*Flame cascade occurs every 0.1s.
*Flames deal 500 damage, +800 Boss damage, and have 100 pierce.
*The summoning of Wall of Fire occurs every 6.5s.
*Walls of Fire each do 25 damage with 60 pierce.

All of these attacks except the Walls of Fire can detect Camo, but all can damage any Bloon type.

Magus Perfectus is the second most expensive Paragon in the game by standalone cost, and among the strongest. Its power stems from proper management of mana and timing of abilities. Arcane Metamorphosis should be activated when Magus' graveyard mana is full, to maximize duration of its extreme DPS. Phoenix Explosion can deal with large groups of BADs and catch leaking DDTs; its DoT does immense damage.
When no abilities are active, Magus Perfectus does above average DPS compared to most Paragons when its Arcane Blasts and Phoenix are active. Make sure to use Drain Beam when the Bloons are slow, and turn it off for a burst of damage if needed. When getting ready for its abilities, focus on timing the Arcane Metamorphosis, while the faster-cooling Phoenix Explosion can be used for quick damage regardless of mana.
For general use in Freeplay, typically the best way to use its abilities is to allow the Mana to charge to full, then use Arcane Metamorphosis. Once the Mana has drained to zero, use the Phoenix Explosion ability to trigger its powerful DoT on nearby BADs. The damage from the zombie ZOMGs can help with clean up against leaking Bloons while Arcane Metamorphosis is on cooldown. Additionally, for both Freeplay and bosses, using the Power Glove ability from the Master Builder allows for some of the highest DPS in the game, above most other Paragons.
Its worst boss matchup is Blastapopoulos as the boss increases its cooldowns and is immune to the DoT from Phoenix Explosion. On the other hand, its best matchup is Bloonarius, which can burst down many skulls during a well-timed Metamorphosis, and also effective at bursting down Dreadbloon outside of Magic immunity.
Higher degrees are important for Magus Perfectus, as its main strength comes from the Arcane Metamorphosis, which has a long cooldown, and versus Bosses the extra degrees for it will often be more worth it than pairing with a cheap Paragon, due to the bonus Boss damage every 20 degrees. Also, a faster cooldown with higher degrees means fewer rounds may be needed to cool off the Arcane Metamorphosis before the Boss begins, or during the Boss to allow extra usages.
For maximizing pops, all Tier 5 Wizards can be used, particularly the Archmage, which could be used for previous Boss tiers to retain pops. For cheapest T2 and T3 crosspaths for the most tiers, use 2-0-2 and 3-0-2, the cheapest T4 for the most tiers is 2-0-4 Necromancer, and for the most expensive use 4-2-0 Arcane Spikes. 2-4-0 Summon Phoenix could be used to anti-stall without needing to be close to the entrances.
