Boosts, also referred to as Temporary Boosts, are a game mechanic in the Rogue Legends campaign of Bloons TD 6. They are temporary items earned in the middle of a game, and can be Insta Monkeys (which can only be used once, but are 20% cheaper to place than normal), Powers (which cost cash to place instead of Monkey Money), or Artifact-like items that provide passive benefits to one tower category or all tower categories, including Paragons or towers placed after the Boost was acquired. All Boosts are discarded after completing a game, regardless of if they were used or not.
When a Boost is earned, the player has three options (which can be increased with Abundant Choices). The player can reroll their choices; the first reroll is free, but every successive reroll costs $300 more cash than the previous reroll (so the second reroll costs $300, the third costs $600, the fourth costs $900, and so on).
The rate that Boosts are earned at depends on the type of tile:
- On Bloon Encounters, the player earns one every 3 rounds.
- On Mini Game tiles, the player earns one every 5 rounds. For Race and Endurance Race, one Artifact is chosen for the player automatically without pausing the game.
- On Mini Boss tiles, the player earns one at the start, then one more every five times the Boss Bloon is popped.
- On Final Boss tiles, the player earns one each time a skull is reached.
