Mermonkeys are merfolk monkeys from Monklantis. They first appeared as non-playable characters in Bloons Pop!, and later became playable in Bloons TD 6.
Gameplay
[edit | edit source]Mermonkeys are Magic towers in Bloons TD 6. They attack by throwing tridents that create splashes on impact, damaging other Bloons nearby. They can be placed on both land and water, but have more range when placed in water. They can be upgraded to improve their trident attacks and grant them freezing and/or seeking properties, harness the Abyssal Creature to attack Bloons with tentacles, buff other towers, and entrance Bloons to inhibit their movement.

[edit | edit source]The base Mermonkey in Bloons TD 6 is depicted as a monkey with light blue fur, lighter blue skin, purple fins on its head and scaly tail, and two light pink horns.
In Bloons Pop!, the Mermonkey is colored differently - overall, the colors of its fur and skin are a dark turquoise, its head fin is light turquoise, and its ears more obviously resemble fins. Additionally, there is a bubble-esque pattern on its fur and its horns resemble coral.
Society and culture
[edit | edit source]Mermonkeys have their own society separate from ordinary monkeys, though it is apparently "just like normal monkeys but wet".[1] They joined the monkey society after Ocean Obyn made contact with them in Monklantis.[2][3] They worship Popseidon,[4] but they also respect the Sun God,[5] and they see other sea creatures as their companions.[6]
