Bloons TD 4 Expansion (also written as as Bloons Tower Defense 4 Expansion, Bloons TD4 Expansion, Bloons TD4 - Expansion, and BTD4 Expansion) is an expansion pack for the Flash version of Bloons TD 4. It was developed and released by Ninja Kiwi due to the demand for more Bloons TD games while Bloons TD 5 was still in development.[1] It has the same gameplay as BTD4, but replaces the selection of tracks and adds Deflation mode and specialties. The Ninja Kiwi website and Ninja Kiwi Archive releases support the web account system and share the same save data, allowing progress, achievements, high scores, and in-app purchases in one game to carry over to the other. Unlike BTD4, this game was never released on Kongregate.

Differences from Bloons TD 4

Round Bloons TD 4 Bloons TD 4 Expansion
1 I really should make level 1 harder. Has anyone ever leaked a bloon on level 1? Same old level 1 as always...free money really.
11 The 'Advanced' track in this expansion has a special secret.
60 Great sacrifice is required to unlock the secrets of the Temple.
73 The Temple awaits... can you discover how to unlock its secrets?

Tracks

[edit | edit source]

This game includes all of the premium tracks from BTD4, but replaces the free tracks with four new tracks (referred to as "Expansion Tracks" in the track selection menu).

Errors

[edit | edit source]

This game shares most of the same errors with the current version of BTD4, but has its own errors.

  • When hovering over the Dartling Gun or Spike Factory, the tooltip displays the Dart Monkey's sprite instead of their own sprites.
  • It is possible to load a save created in BTD4 Expansion in BTD4. Doing this on any of the BTD4 Expansion-exclusive tracks causes BTD4 to load the save on Firecracker, allowing towers to be placed on the track or water. It is not possible to load BTD4 saves in BTD4 Expansion.
