Boss Bloons[fn 1] (or simply bosses) are a group of Bloons in the Bloons franchise. They are generally much larger and stronger than regular Bloons, and often have unique abilities. In most games they appear in, Boss Bloons are also treated as MOAB-Class Bloons.

Boss Bloons are MOAB-Class Bloons with additional abilities, such as spawning defensive Bloon formations or, in the mobile version, firing blop-like projectiles that inflict debuffs. Boss Bloons only stay on-screen for a limited time; if a boss escapes, the level is considered lost. In the mobile version, some Boss Bloons prevent players from passing through them like Shielded Bloons.

Bloons Pop!
Boss Bloons are positioned bottom of the puzzle. They spawn formations of Bloons and other puzzle elements to defend themselves. If frozen, glued, or stunned, they spawn weaker formations.
As there is no overarching MOAB class in Bloons Pop!, Boss Bloons do not share a weakness to "MOAB damage" with the MOAB. They take increased or reduced damage from certain Monkeys and Powerups, and take extra damage when the Like a Boss Party Bonus is applied, but they do not take extra damage from the MOAB Specialist Party Bonus.

Boss Bloons are encountered in certain levels. In the Flash version, the boss always appears at the end of the final stage of a zone, and the player must achieve at least a bronze trophy in order to face the boss, otherwise the stage ends prematurely in a game over. In the mobile version, bosses instead appear in the final levels of chapters and earning a medal is not required to encounter them, although certain boss levels require a number of gold medals to be obtained before they can be played.
