Template:BTDB2 hero alt info Star Captain Jericho is a Hero Alt of Agent Jericho in Bloons TD Battles 2, introduced in version 2.2. He costs  5,000 Monkey Money and Hero PointsAgent Jericho Hero Points 40,000 Agent Jericho Hero Points to unlock.

Star Captain Jericho uses a blaster to attack Bloons within his range, dealing 1 damage per shot and applying a Laser Shock-like damage over time effect that also causes affected Bloons to take more damage from his shots. He cannot pop Purple Bloons and cannot detect Camo Bloons. Compared to Agent Jericho, he fires faster, but deals less damage, and trades his weakness to Lead Bloons for Purple Bloons. As he levels up, his range, damage, and attack speed increase, he gains Camo detection and the ability to damage Purple Bloons, and he unlocks multiple passive and active methods of disrupting the opponent.

  • Starting at level 2, he periodically adds an extra layer to natural Bloons on the opponent's side. At higher levels, he can add Bloon Mods and enhance sent Bloons as well.
  • Starting at level 4, he causes sent Regrow Bloons to regenerate faster.
  • Starting at level 7, he causes sent Camo Bloons to move faster (unless the Camo is removed).
  • Starting at level 9, he causes sent Fortified Bloons to gain extra health, though he cannot affect Fortified BADs until level 20.
  • He has two Activated Abilities:
    • In It For the Money (level 3) — Rigs non-MOAB-Class Bloons sent by the player over the next few seconds with a "booby trap" that causes them to generate cash for the player and debt for the opponent if their outer layers are popped. At higher levels, it generates more cash from higher-ranked Bloons and can affect a single MOAB-Class Bloon for more cash.
    • Smuggler's Run (level 10) — Causes Bloons sent by the player over the next few seconds to be stored in a starship, which are then deployed all at once a short distance down the opponent's path for player-sent Bloons. At higher levels, it can store more valuable Bloon sends, and it can store BADs at level 20.

Agent Jericho:

  • Level 1: Damage type is Sharp.
  • Damage per attack: 3
  • Level 3 Ability: Steals directly from the opponent over time.
  • Maximum steal per ability use: $350
  • Level 4: Regrow Bloons sent to your opponent are cheaper.
  • Level 7: Camo Bloons sent to your opponent are cheaper.
  • Level 9: Fortified Bloons sent to your opponent are cheaper ( except BADs ).
  • Level 10 Ability: Sends a decoy MOAB that has BAD properties and has infinite health.

Star Captain Jericho:

  • Level 1: Damage type is Plasma.
  • Damage per attack: 1 + 1 Laser Shock DoT after 2 seconds.
  • Level 3 Ability: Relies on sending the opponent some Bloons quickly to get your worth.
  • Maximum steal per ability use: $175
  • Level 4: Regrow Bloons sent to your opponent regenerate faster than normal.
  • Level 7: Camo Bloons sent to your opponent move faster than normal.
  • Level 9: Fortified Bloons sent to your opponent are more durable than normal ( except BADs ).
  • Level 10 Ability: Up to $5,500 worth of sent Bloons within a short time will be transported and condensed part-way through your opponent's track.

Mechanics

Blaster

Jericho fires a shot with his pistol every 0.54 seconds that deals 1 plasma-type damage and inflicts a damage over time effect that deals 1 energy-type damage after 1 second. If the target is already inflicted with this effect, his shots deal +1 damage and reset both the duration and time until the damage tick. He cannot apply this effect to DDTs even while buffed by a Monkey Intelligence Bureau. The effect does not deal extra damage to Bloons inflicted with Laser Shock from Dartling Gunners and vice versa. Each shot collides with the target instantly without any travel time and can only hit one Bloon. Its pierce cannot be buffed.

Levels
Level Effect
6 Attack cooldown reduces to 0.35 seconds, effectively increasing his attack speed by roughly 54.3%.
7 Shot damage increases to 2. Range increases from 40 units to 70 units. Jericho gains Camo detection and Camo Prioritization.
12 Pierce increases from 1 to 2. Each shot can now re-hit the target if it did not pop it, or jump to a new target within a 12-unit radius if it did, after 0.1 seconds. If it jumps, it attempts to follow Jericho's targeting, though it will default to the closest Bloon if it is not reachable.
16 Pierce increases to 3. Shot damage increases to 5. DoT damage per tick increases to 2.
19 Shots now deal normal-type damage (though the DoT still deals energy-type damage). Shot damage increases to 8. DoT damage per tick increases to 4.

Bloon Adjustment

Bloon Adjustment is a passive mechanic that unlocks at level 2. It causes every fourth natural Bloon that spawns on the opponent's side to gain an extra layer. It cannot add layers to Purple Bloons, Lead Bloons, Ceramic Bloons, or MOAB-Class Bloons. Adjusted White Bloons and Black Bloons both become Zebra Bloons.

5 Adjusted Bloons now also gain a random applicable Bloon Mod (Camo, Regrow, Phayze, or Fortified), including Ceramics and MOAB-Class.
8 Now applies to every other Bloon.
13 Adjusted Bloons now gain two random Bloon Mods. For MOAB-Class Bloons, this means they always gain Fortified and Phayze.
15 Now also affects sent Bloons.

Bloon Mod buffs

Jericho buffs the player's Bloon sends that have Bloon Mods. Each buff is unlocked at a different level.

  • Level 4: reduces the time it takes for sent Regrow Bloons to regenerate layers from 2.5 seconds to 2.2 seconds.
  • Level 7: increases the speed of sent Camo Bloons by 15%, including DDTs, which is lost if the Camo is removed.
  • Level 9: increases the health of sent Fortified Bloons, except BADs, by 12.5%.
  • Level 20: increases the health of sent Fortified BADs by the same amount.

Abilities

In It For The Money

In It For The Money is unlocked at level 3. It causes up to 25 non-MOAB-Class Bloons sent by the player over the next 6 seconds to gain a "booby trap" effect that lasts until the outer layer is popped. If the opponent pops the outer layer of an affected Bloon, it gives the player $7 of cash and the opponent $7 of debt. The cash the player gains from this ability is stored and given out in 1-second intervals. It has a 70-second cooldown and starts with a 28-second cooldown.

Smuggler's Run

Smuggler's Run is unlocked at level 10. It causes Bloon sends sent by the player over the next 8 seconds to be stored in his starship instead of being sent to the opponent. The starship cannot store BADs until level 20, and it can store up to $5,500 worth of Bloon sends; if a BAD is sent or a Bloon send is sent that would exceed the remaining capacity, it is sent to the opponent normally instead. When the duration ends, Jericho's starship appears on the opponent's side 25% of the distance down the path for player-sent Bloons and deploys all its stored Bloon sends almost simultaneously. It has an 80-second cooldown and no initial cooldown.

2 Bloon Adjustment - Periodically enhance a single natural bloon on the opponent's side with an extra layer.
3 In It For The Money: Up to 25 bloons sent to your opponent in the next 6 seconds are rigged with a high tech booby trap. Popping them earns you $7 and puts your opponent into debt.
4 Regrow bloons sent to your opponent regenerate faster than normal.
5 Adjusted bloons will now also have the camo, regrow, or fortified property.
6 Jericho dual wields his blasters, doubling his attack speed. Stronger bloons sent with In It For The Money are worth more cash when popped.
7 Jericho's damage and range increases and he can detect camo bloons. Camo bloons sent to your opponent move faster than normal.
8 In It For The Money lasts longer and can now affect 1 MOAB class bloon send which is worth $300 when popped. Bloon adjustment happens more regularly.
9 MOAB class bloons sent with In It For The Money are worth $600 when popped. Fortified bloons sent to your opponent are more durable than normal (except BADs).
10 Smuggler's Run: Up to $5,500 worth of bloons sent in the next 8s are loaded into Jericho's spaceship to be dropped off part way down the opponent's track.
11 MOAB class bloons sent with In It For The Money are worth $1,300 when popped.
12 Adds a second particle emitter to each of Jericho's blasters, allowing him to fire twice each time he attacks with one of them. Smuggler's Run can load $8,000 worth of bloons into Jericho's spaceship.
13 Bloon adjustment applies more modifiers to each enhanced bloon.
14 MOAB class bloons sent with In It For The Money are worth $3,000 when popped.
15 Bloon adjustment now affects sent bloons in addition to natural bloons. Smuggler's Run can load $13,000 worth of bloons into Jericho's spaceship.
16 Jericho's blasters are upgraded with high-energy capacitors, allowing him to fire each one 3 times per attack.
17 Smuggler's Run can load $20,000 worth of bloons into Jericho's spaceship (excluding BADs).
18 In It For The Money cooldown reduced.
19 Jericho's blaster attacks deal significantly more damage and pop purple bloons.
20 Smuggler's Run can load $25,000 worth of bloons into Jericho's spaceship, including BADs. Its cooldown is also reduced. Sent fortified BADs are now more durable than normal.

Highwayman Jericho’s usage rate has dropped off significantly ever since his last nerf, however we believe that this is simply due to the other Jerichos being the clear favorites now, rather than Highwayman being too weak relative to all the other heroes. Therefore, we have left Highwayman as is and targeted the other two Jerichos instead.
