Tips

- Double Blue does not possess many standout qualities. Most combos involving Double Bloons are more efficient with other types, and an unbuffed Double Blue does less damage than a normal Yellow Bloon, while effectively taking twice the damage as a normal bloon would. It's still strong if buffed, such as Zee Jay's Passive Awesomeness and Booster Bloon.
- For Improved Fortification strategies in aggro, Double Red Bloon can survive one Spike Storm! and is 1 gold cheaper. Double Blue can survive two Spike Storms on Dark Castle, however.
- For combo decks utilizing Quick Ready, Double Yellow Bloon costs the same as Double Blue + Fortify with the same HP, but grants 2 extra Bloontonium without needing an extra card.
- For Amelia Double Bloon strategies, two Double Red Bloons or one Double Green Bloon are less awkward for unlocking her Bloon Shield.
- Double Blue Bloon does stand out in niche cases, besides just extra variety for early-game Double Bloons.
- Double Blue survives versus two unbuffed Dart Monkey Twins and pairs well with Fortify as a followup; this stands out on exactly Round 2 for both players.

“
Because the Doubles are just so weak in terms of health, and they didn't even do more damage than their counterparts. [...] Of course, you're supposed to use the health buffers to make it do more damage, but the fact that double Bloons did less damage was always kind of strange.
