Medals are collectable items featured in the Bloons TD series, first appearing in Bloons Tower Defense 2. They are awarded for completing maps on a specific difficulty and/or mode. In most games, medals simply track the player's progress and/or contribute towards achievements, though in the mobile version and DSi version of Bloons TD 4, Premium Upgrades are unlocked by owning a certain number of Gold Medals.
Types of medals
Bloons TD 5
In Bloons TD 5, there are medals for the four difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard, and Impoppable), which are obtained by completing a game on that difficulty, plus two for Reverse and Ten mode, which are obtained by completing a game on any difficulty with those modifiers enabled. Unlike in Bloons TD 4, each medal is tracked separately There are three versions of each medal: one for Solo tracks, one for solo tracks in Mastery mode, and one for Co-op tracks. (Co-op cannot be played in Mastery). There are 21 medals in total.
The mobile version of Bloons TD 5 is the only version of BTD5 with all 21 medals. Other versions have fewer medals due to them lacking the game modes they are obtained from:
- The Flash version has no Impoppable, Ten, or Mastery medals. It does have medals for Co-op mode, but they have the same design as the solo medals.
- BTD5 Deluxe has no Impoppable, Ten, Co-op, or Mastery medals.
- The console version has no Ten medals.

Solo
Solo medals are earned by completing maps on certain mode/difficulty combinations in solo play. There are two versions of the CHIMPS medal: the red version, which is earned by completing the map on CHIMPS at all, and the black version, which is earned alongside the red version by completing the game in one session without exiting the game or using the "Retry Last Round" option. If the player earns the red version, the black version can still be unlocked by replaying the map on CHIMPS and meeting the condition. The map thumbnail only shows one CHIMPS medal, but both are shown in the player's profile.
Collecting certain medals changes the border around the map thumbnail:
- Bronze border: All Easy medals
- Silver border: All Easy and Medium medals
- Gold border: All medals except the black CHIMPS medal
- Black border: All medals, including the black CHIMPS medal

Co-op medals function mostly the same as the solo medals. The red CHIMPS medal is earned if the player quits and re-joins the game later; this doesn't affect the type of CHIMPS medal the other participants earn, so it's possible for players to get different CHIMPS medals from each other even if they played the same match.

Bloons TD Battles 2
At the end of each season, all players that participated and are in Yellow Stadium and above receive a medal based on their current Arena. In the Hall of Masters, the medal the player receives is based on their placement on the global leaderboard. Up to three medals or accolades can be equipped on the player's profile to display them on their nametag.
In-game, each medal has a number in Roman numerals corresponding to the season they were obtained from.
