The Golden Bloon is an event-exclusive type of Bloon in the mobile version of Bloons TD 5. When the event is active, the Golden Bloon only appears on one track at a time (indicated by a Golden Bloon icon), and on that track, it appears once on a random round from 30 to 40 inclusive. It moves in the reverse direction of other Bloons (meaning it spawns from the exit normally, or from the entrance on Reverse). It has the properties of a Camo Bloon, Lead Bloon, and Ceramic Bloon (and thus takes extra "juggernaut damage"), and it moves as fast as a Pink Bloon. It drops bundles of Monkey Money when it takes damage and drops a free Special Agent if it is destroyed, which can be collected by the player; they cannot be picked up by Banana Farmers. Leaking a Golden Bloon does not cost any lives.
Track rotation
The Golden Bloon appears on the following tracks in order. After the Golden Bloon is encountered, it will disappear from the track selection screen, then reappear on the next track in sequence after one hour, regardless of if it was popped, if it escaped, or if the player quits or restarts.
- Sprint Track
- Checkers
- 3 Times Around
- Patch
- The Rink
- Space Truckin
- Pyramids
- Dune Sea
- Jungle
- Bloon Circles
- Slalom
- Snake River
- Archipelago
- Country Road
- Wattle Trees
Rewards
The value of each Monkey Money bundle it drops is random, but the total amount of money dropped when it is fully popped always adds up to a specific amount. On higher difficulties, it drops more Monkey Money and can drop more expensive Special Agents. In the desktop releases, the Monkey Money amounts are doubled.
| Difficulty | Bundle values | Total Monkey Money | Agents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Easy / Medium | 7–15 | Banana Farmer, Radadactyl, Tribal Turtle, Meerkat Spy, Bloonberry Bush, Angry Squirrel, Super Monkey Storm, Portable Lake, Pontoon | |
| Hard / Impoppable | 15–30 | Banana Farmer, Radadactyl, Tribal Turtle, Meerkat Spy, Bloonberry Bush, Angry Squirrel, Super Monkey Storm, Portable Lake, Pontoon, Bee Keeper, Bloonsday Device |

Although the Golden Bloon's various properties can be difficult, an easy way is to place a Spiked Ball Factory at the back of the track.
