Revision as of 04:01, 2 July 2024
Clan War is an event in Bloons TD Battles 2, introduced alongside Clans in version 3.0. In each war, clans are matched against other clans of the same league to compete on a local leaderboard, with up to 12 clans per leaderboard. Clans are ranked on the war leaderboard they're in by the total number of Medallions their members have accumulated from participating in War Arenas. Additionally, each clan has its own leaderboard that ranks its members based on the number of Medallions they have contributed. For both the war leaderboard and member leaderboard, the free Medallions each member earns daily are not counted and Medallions lost by members are not deducted from the total. At the end of the war, all members who participated earn tokens based on both the clan's rank on the war leaderboard and their own rank on the member leaderboard. Clan wars last for five days, with a two-day grace period between each war.
War Arenas
War Arenas are rooms where players are matched against each other. The arenas use the same themes and map lists as their equivalents in Ranked Battle. Entering a War Arena costs a certain number of Medallions. The winner of the match is rewarded with double the entry cost, while the loser earns nothing. Higher arenas have higher entry costs, so competing in higher arenas has greater risk and reward.
| Arena | Entry cost | Win payout |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow Stadium | 100 | 200 |
| White Wasteland | 200 | 400 |
| Lead Dungeon | 500 | 1,000 |
| MOAB Pit | 1,000 | 2,000 |
| ZOMG Superdome | 2,000 | 4,000 |
Rules and restrictions
War Arenas have additional rules on certain days. The only rules that can appear are Random Quad, Speed Battles, No Pain, No Gain, and a rule unique to clan wars called Restricted Monkeys, which limits which towers and Heroes can be chosen. Like Private Battles and the Event Theatre, up to three rules can be active at once. If restrictions are applied, all non-restricted towers and upgrades can be used even if the player has not unlocked them yet.
Rules and restrictions are chosen for each day based on two factors: the cycle of days and the pools of preset rules. On each day, certain arenas are assigned a pool, which is determined by a cycle that repeats every 25 days. (Since each clan war has five days, this means the cycle repeats every five clan wars by extension.) Each pool contains preset combinations of rules and/or restrictions, from which one is selected at random. Because of this, it is possible to predict which arenas will have modifiers at all on any given day, and the kinds of modifiers they may be assigned based on the pool.
