Defense

Defense (Defend in the Flash version) is a game mode in Bloons TD Battles. This mode replaces Bloon sends with Income Boosts, which similarly allow players to spend cash to increase their income, but prevent players from sending Bloons to the opponent. Both players start with $650 and 75 income (25 income in the Flash version) and cannot raise their income above 5,000 (3,000 in the Flash version).
In the mobile version, all Powers except Copy Eco are allowed in this mode, though Bloon Powers have no use due to the lack of Bloon sends, and attacks that target the track, such as the Spike Factory's main attack, Cleansing Foam, and Bloon Trap, cannot target sections of the track only used by sent Bloons.
Some towers behave differently in Defense mode:
- Monkey Town increases the income gained from Income Boosts by 20%, like it does with Bloon sends.
- Attrition generates lives instead of stealing them.
