Avoid leaking to this Bloon, or else it will summon a Ceramic Bloon for much less cost. Thus, the Precursor Bloon works best if the opponent cannot afford anything to damage it.
Barrel of Monkeys (two on Dark Castle) or two Dart Monkey Twins (necessary for the neighbor bonus) are easy ways to stop a Precursor Bloon from leaking.
If the opponent only relies on manually targeted Monkeys, Must Pop Bloons such as Target Practice Blimp or Sentinel Bloon may prevent them from destroying a Precursor Bloon.
Any board clear can neutralize the Precursor Bloon's effect. An exception is if it's Armored, which is resistant to Spike Storm!
In aggro, if you have both Blooming Bloon and Precursor in your hand, sending the Blooming Bloon first is recommended, as the opponent may be hiding cheap Monkeys.
The Ceramic that spawns effectively has 3 delay relative to the opponent. More importantly, a 2-delay Monkey such as Alchemist Monkey can attack it up to two times before it leaks.
