Bloons Festive Fun is a mobile game in the Bloons series that was first announced on the Ninja Kiwi Blog on 9th of November 2009.[3] It is based on iOS version of Bloons, but has Christmas-themed graphics and audio, different levels, and the Reindeer Bloon (a reskin of the Chomper Bloon from the Flash games). The game was released on December 2009, delisted on January 2010, relisted on December 2010, delisted again on January 2011, and was never made available again.

This game is 32-bit and thus does not run on iOS 11 and above. However, the game was delisted before iOS 11 released.

Gameplay

Bloons Festive Fun has the same basic gameplay as the iOS version of Bloons: the player controls a Monkey and must pop a certain number of Bloons with a limited amount of darts, and the player determines the angle and power of each shot by dragging on the screen away from the Monkey. The game features the same Bloon and block types as Even More Bloons. Unlike Bloons iOS, this includes the Chomper Bloon (reskinned as the Reindeer Bloon), which the player controls by swiping the screen in the four cardinal directions.

Unlike other Bloons games, the player does not unlock levels in order. On each day, starting from the 1st of December 2009 (according to the system clock on the player's device), the game unlocks a set of three levels. The second and third levels of each set require the player to complete the previous level of that set to unlock, but the player can play through each day in any order. Levels unlocked on previous days remain unlocked permanently; playing with a system clock set to 31 December 2009 or later unlocks all level sets instantly.

Unlike other Bloons games, there is a Christmas scene (represented by the Monkey's house) that the player unlocks decorations for by completing each day (even if the player uses Unlimited Darts to complete the levels), with each day having a unique decoration. The player receives a special "Congratulations!" message for unlocking all 31 decorations.

Differences from the iOS version of Bloons

  • The monkey wears a Santa hat like in Bloons Player Pack 5.
  • Some Bloons are reskinned and had their descriptions changed to match the holiday theme. Similar reskins for the Tack Bloon, Boomerang Bloon, and Bomb Bloon appear in Bloons 2 Christmas Expansion.
    • The Tack Bloon is renamed to the Holly Bloon and shoots holly leaves instead of tacks.
    • The Boomerang Bloon is renamed to the Candy Cane Bloon.
    • The Spikey Bloon is renamed to the Christmas Pudding Bloon and replaces the spikey ball with an "overcooked christmas pudding".
    • The Light Sabre Bloon is renamed to the Christmas Toy Bloon, though its description still calls it a light sabre.
    • The Bomb Bloon is renamed to the Bauble Bloon.
  • The background music has been replaced with a royalty-free cover of "Jingle Bells" by Felipe Vassão.[4]
