Ceramic Bloons can naturally spawn from the Storm. On Round 7 (Player 2) and Round 8 (Player 1), a single Ceramic always spawns. Two Ceramics always spawn on Round 19 (Player 2) and Round 20 (Player 1). Additionally, Precursor Bloon can summon Ceramic Bloons during a match.
The card artwork depicts Ceramic Bloons produced from Ceramic Glazing Kilns. One Ceramic Bloon spawned from a Ceramic Glazing Kiln is visible in the foreground.
Ceramics apply decent pressure to the opponent if they lack single-target damage. Multiple Ceramics can also be paired with lots of Large Bloons to pressure the opponent to play an AOE option such as Thunder Druid, Frag Bomb Shooter or Super Monkey Storm.
For early-game, Super Monkey does enough damage to pop an entire Ceramic Bloon with all 3 ammo.
Ceramic Bloons can apply decent pressure from the Storm, as Ceramic Bloons that spawn from Storms typically spawn either early or in pairs. Using them to finish off opponents when fighting Aggro can be a useful strategy.
Ceramic Bloons costing 5 allows them to be useful with heroes like Gwendolin, as they can activate her Heat It Up early while still creating pressure.
Ceramic as its own card has been bad for a very long time. Its stats were just a little bit too low to ever really justify running in a deck, and this health increase should hopefully make the card itself a little bit better. Now, as a consequence, the Storm is a little stronger now, but many monkeys have been buffed to try and deal with the Storm as well. — u/No-Appearance1780's commentary, 15:56–16:12 (with most disfluencies removed)
The Ceramic Bloon has its Health increased in Version 6.4 to give the card and the Storm variant more of a direct threat on the field.[1] While not explicitly mentioned in OdysseyTOS's tester commentary, other types of 5 Gold, 2 delay cards were more popular, with Black Bloons and (in casual gameplay) Lead Coating Bloon being one of the more common choices.
