(THIS IS A POLICY DRAFT)

Do not use Blooncyclopedia to leak Bloons content. While we do cover leaked content and the existence of leaks under certain conditions, we do not condone leaks and will not allow the wiki to be used to leak content. This is largely out of respect for the wishes of the developers, who are known for taking down leaks on websites like YouTube, and also to avoid covering misinformation should a leak turn out to be false or misrepresentative. Certain pages may be protected by staff to prevent leaked content from being added to the wiki; these pages will be unprotected once the content has been officially announced or released.

Leaked upcoming content

Some Bloons games are constantly being updated with new content over time. Sometimes updates introduce new content to the game's internal data early in preparation for a future update, but it cannot be seen or accessed without datamining, game mods, or by exploiting glitches. For this wiki's purposes, documenting this kind of content before release is considered leaking. We will not allow coverage or discussion of this kind of content on this wiki or the Discord server until either:

A) The content has been publicly revealed or released. Any differences between what has been made public and the content that was added to the game before release, such as the early descriptions for the Beast Handler's upgrades in BTD6 that were added in version 35.0, can also be documented at this point.
B) At least one full year (365 days) has passed since the content was introduced.

Note that if upcoming content is somehow trivially accessible without datamining, mods, or glitches, then it can be documented. For example, Blons was accessible before its intended release by pressing the random map button in the Challenge Editor, which, while clearly an oversight, is hard to consider a "glitch" since nothing about the random map feature was functioning incorrectly. These rare sorts of "leaks" will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Leaked prototypes

Outside of beta tests, a handful of early builds of Bloons games have surfaced on the internet over the years, including some for the mobile version of Bloons TD 5 and Bloons TD 6. While we do cover officially released prototypes (such as the beta tests for Bloons Card Storm), we only cover leaked prototypes if the prototype is of a game that has already been officially released. Documenting leaked prototypes of unreleased upcoming games is strictly forbidden. We do not allow discussion or documentation of where these prototypes came from or how they became public because that could be considered facilitation of piracy.
