Rogue XP is a type of currency in the Rogue Legends DLC for Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 48.0. The player accumulates Rogue XP by playing campaigns and can spend it on permanent bonuses in future campaigns. Any XP the player earns is not usable until after finishing the campaign it was earned in. The player earns more Rogue XP by enabling Curses in CHIMPS mode.

Sources of Rogue XP

The amount of Rogue XP earned by all sources increases by 10% with each stage cleared. If the resulting amount is not an integer (after factoring in Curses), it is rounded down.

Rogue XP Shop

The Rogue XP Shop is an interface where the player can spend Rogue XP on permanent upgrades in Rogue Legends. Many upgrades have multiple levels that stack their bonuses. The cost of upgrades increases by 25% with each level purchased, stacking additively and rounding down. This can be represented with this formula:

$$\text{Upgrade cost}=\text{Base cost}+\frac{\text{Base cost}\times (\text{Level}-1)}{4}$$

The total XP needed up to a particular level, starting at zero upgrades, is approximately determined by this formula (due to rounding down):

$$\text{Total upgrade cost}=\text{Base cost}\times \text{Level}\times (1+\frac{\text{Level}-1}{8})$$ It costs a total of 170,105 XP to buy all upgrades in the shop. The player can respec all purchases at no cost, refunding all previously spent XP.

To maximize Rogue XP, play Endless CHIMPS with a focus on achieving late stages. It may help to play a few quick games first to start accessing important Rogue XP benefits sooner before committing to a full-on Endless CHIMPS run. Start investing in shop items that have long-term but consistent benefits. Begin with Starting Cash, starting Encounters with more leeway, then invest in Up To Tier 3 Discounts to benefit much from a defense consisting of mostly up to Tier 3. As more runs are played, it may help to distribute into shop items that would benefit more to the preferred playstyle.
