Regrow Yellow Bloon is a Basic Bloon card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 6.0. It regrows 30 health at the start of each turn.

The card artwork portrays a standoff between a Desperado and a Regrow Yellow Bloon in Sandytown from the Frontier Legends DLC for Bloons TD 6, with the bison and chicken pets from BTD6's Trophy Store in the background. This card released before Sandytown was officially revealed.

  • Regrow Yellow Bloon costs the same as a Yellow Bloon but has 2 delay instead of 1. It's less effective alone but more effective if combined with one-delay Bloons. The regrow effect helps it resist chip damage.
  • Increasing its health can make the regrow effect more potent. However, Fortified Regrow Camo Red Bloon is generally better for buffing due to its stronger regrow and camo properties.
  • Using this card in very fast Aggro decks is questionable due to its slower speed than Yellow Bloon. It fulfills a role similar to Lead Bloon, but is easier to pop when focused on.

  • Buff Health increased ― 120 → 130
“
Although we buffed its health in the past, we've come to realize that Regrow Yellow Bloon is a lot better [...] if it's just like one big Bloon, and that's mainly because Regrow doesn't really work as well with lower-health Bloons. Regrow Yellow now has a much bigger health pool to take advantage of, and it's a lot harder to kill it in one turn. It generally is also a lot more threatening if you let it sit there and leak because instead of 30, it's going all the way to 160. This change actually turned out quite strong in testing, it was initially 130 to 170, but the problem is 170 is actually way too good. It basically became a Volatile Bloon with no downside, so we reduced the health to 160 in testing to make it a little easier to survive, and Regrow Yellow still felt like a very strong and good card, so I'd recommend trying it out in aggro decks when you get this in your hands.

Development

[edit | edit source]

This card originally had 1 charge, but it was increased to 2 charges before the update released due to feedback from community playtesters.[1] The original charge count was displayed in the update video.[2]

Regrow Yellow was playtested in Version 6.2. Community playtesters proposed a buff to 135 or 140, but was reduced to only a buff from 120 to 130.[3] Some community playtesters consider this a minor buff to what they considered a bad card.[3]

Version 6.4 changed Regrow Yellow to have a higher base value but lose a charge, making it more of a rival to Volatile Bloon without the downside in aggro decks.[4] The design choice was to make Regrow Yellow more of a single "big Bloon" for early rounds.[4] 170 Health was proposed but was dialled down to 160 to not outclass Volatile Bloon.[4]
