The Collection Event is a recurring event in Bloons TD 6. During the event, completing maps and participating in weekly events such as Race Events and Odyssey Events earns items called Collection Rewards that contribute towards unlocking crates containing Insta Monkeys. As the player earns more Collection Rewards, the number of Collection Rewards required to earn crates increases, but the value of the crates and the Insta Monkeys they contain also increase. This event is one of the only ways to obtain tier 5 Insta Monkeys.

Variants

[edit | edit source]

There are eight types of Collection Events, each with a different type of Collection Reward. Their differences are purely aesthetic. Each variant is associated with a specific holiday or time period and is run once per year around that time, usually for two weeks, though the exact start time and end time varies. The exception is the Totem Event, which isn't associated with any particular date and is usually run for only one week, but is run multiple times per year.

The Chinese New Year and Dragon Boat Festival variants are exclusive to the Chinese version.

Icon Item Availability
Red envelopes Chinese New Year
Eggs Easter

Fireworks Early-mid July, corresponding to multiple national holidays in that period that are typically celebrated with fireworks (American Independence Day, Canada Day, Bastille Day, etc)
Candy Halloween
Presents Christmas
Totems Varies

Collection Rewards are the items earned by participating in Collection Events. They are primarily obtained by completing regular games and participating in other events running concurrently (e.g. Race Events and Odysseys). The number of Collection Rewards earned from completing games depends on the map difficulty and game mode.

Map rewards

During the event, one map per difficulty is chosen at random to give out much more Collection Rewards than normal, indicated by a "BONUS REWARDS" icon on the map's thumbnail. The bonus moves to a different map of the same map difficulty after a game is completed on it, and every 8 hours.

Collection Chests

[edit | edit source]

Collection Chests are the main reward for participating in the Collection Event. Collection Chests are earned by collecting Collection Rewards and increase in quality each time the player reaches certain Collection Reward milestones. Each chest contains a random set of Insta Monkeys. The amount of Insta Monkeys and the tiers of upgrades they have is random and has different weighting for each type of chest.
