Arenas (also referred to as Battle Arenas) are a matchmaking system in the multiplatform version of Bloons TD Battles introduced in version 3.0. Each Arena represents a matchmaking room that players can enter by spending a certain amount of Medallions (unless they have a Free Entry), with higher-ranking Arenas costing more. Usually, the prize for winning is double the entry cost (represented by both players placing their Medallions in a pot, then the winner taking all), though some limited time Arenas had bonus Medallions for winning in older versions. All Arenas have their own pool of maps, with higher-tier Arenas generally favoring shorter maps. Instead of using Battle Energy, all Arenas have rulesets that either provide Power uses and tower rerolls for free, or disable them entirely.
There are two Arena rotations that change on a daily basis: one for Assault mode and one for Card Battle mode. Some Arenas are always available, while others appear on a rotating basis or are periodically replaced with Club Arenas.
Types of Arenas
Club Arenas
Club Arenas are variants of Arenas that have additional rules. They can have Speed Battle, Bananza, Random Trio (Random Cards for Card Battle Arenas), Mega Boosts, Play With Fire, Old School, or a combination of up to three rules. Entering a Club Arena requires either a daily free entry or having a Club Membership. Some maps are exclusive to Club Arenas.
Boss Arenas
Boss Arenas are Arenas based on the Boss Bloons from Bloons Monkey City that have Medallion costs and rewards on par with ZOMG Superdome. They only appear in the Assault rotation and only appear periodically. Additionally, rather than being active for the whole day, they alternate between being accessible and inaccessible in one-hour blocks. Each Boss Arena's map pool consists of only one map, which is exclusive to that Arena and a few other modes.
