Bloons (or Bloons 1) is the first game of the Bloons series. The game was developed by Stephen and Chris Harris, two brothers from New Zealand, and was released on March 27, 2007.

Gameplay

The player controls a monkey that can aim darts in any direction, with the ability to control the speed and angle of the darts. Unless Unlimited Darts mode is turned on, the player must beat the level by reaching a pop threshold within a certain amount of darts. There are several different types of Bloons that each have unique effects.

  • Regular Bloons come in 4 different colors and take 1 dart to pop.
  • Ice Bloons freeze bloons in a small area around them when popped. Frozen Bloons cannot be popped, and darts bounce off them.
  • Tack Bloons shoot out tacks in 8 directions when popped that can pop other Bloons.
  • Bomb Bloons explode when popped, popping nearby Bloons in a radius.
  • Boomerang Bloons makes the next shot a wide boomerang that travels in an arc when popped.
  • Spikey Ball Bloons drop a spiked ball that pops Bloons and can bounce off frozen Bloons and rubber blocks like a dart.
  • Chomper Bloons summon a chomper manually controlled by the player that can pop Bloons in the four cardinal directions.
