Setup Bloon is a Basic Bloon card in Bloons Card Storm. If it hits the opponent's Hero, it reduces the Gold cost of a random Bloon in the player's hand by 1. It has a Delay of 0, so it will attack the opponent at the end of the same turn it's played on under normal circumstances.
Tips

- As the name implies, the Setup Bloon's primary purpose is to set up a Bloon push on a later turn by reducing their cost.
- Since it reduces the cost of all charges, it is efficient at discounting Swarm Bloons and Discount Bloons.
- It can reduce the cost of expensive Bloons to allow the player to play more Bloons in a single turn, though there are more reliable ways of bypassing the 20 Gold limit, such as Quincy Action Figures.
- With Zee Jay's Passive Awesomeness or Ceramic Glazing Kiln, this card deals comparable damage to Bloon Strike, while still being cheaper and granting a discount. Although this is a fair use for it, the damage is still low and may make it a low value inclusion in burn decks.
- The Setup Bloon is a cheap way to intercept an opponent's Hero Protection or Corvus Academy of Arts.
- The Setup Bloon can be popped by Defenders or Adora's passive ability.
- The low value of this card in decks makes it difficult for it to effectively support or change your strategy.

This is an overall pretty massive buff to Setup. Before, Setup really did not get that much value. Even hitting just a 2-charge Bloon didn't get you value because you would save 2, but you would also spend 2. Nowadays, if you use Discount Bloon[sic] and hit a 2-charge Bloon, you'll get [...] minus 1 cost overall on the thing. On swarm Bloons, it's a much bigger discount; before, [...] if you hit a 3-charge Bloon with Setup, you would [...] save 3 for 2, but with this new rework, you would spend 3 to save 6, which is a much bigger discount. Setup is generally kind of like For My Next Trick in that department, but it's a little bit more liable, can be used by any Hero, and it generally is pretty dang good with some Bloons. I'd recommend trying it out with stuff like Swarm Yellows or the new Discount Bloon [...]
