Version 4.6 is the sixth major update to the mobile version of Bloons TD Battles of 2017. It introduced the map Roadblock and more Tower Skins.

Changes

The Ninja's Double Shot upgrade is just a little too valuable at such a low cost, easily holding off those early spaced pink/black rushes. This price change should help make the tower more balanced overall.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
3-X Double Shot
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $550 → $700
We've buffed the Sniper's overall attack speed, as well as it's[sic] 0-4 attack speed, in the hope we see it out on the battlefield more often and make it more worthy of one of your three tower slots.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
0-0 base tower
1-X Full Metal Jacket and further upgrades
  • Buff Attack cooldown reduced ― 2.0s → 1.818s
X-1 Faster Firing
X-2 Night Vision Goggles
  • Buff Attack cooldown reduced ― 1.4s → 1.218s
X-3 Semi Automatic Rifle
  • Buff Attack cooldown reduced ― 0.467s → 0.285s
X-4 Supply Drop
  • Buff Attack cooldown reduced ― 0.467s → 0.21375s
We'd like to make the Spike Factory a more viable option, so we've dropped a bunch of prices across the board to help with that.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
0-0 base tower
  • Buff Cost reduced ― $700 → $600
1-X Bigger Stacks
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $700 → $550
2-X White Hot Spikes
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $600 → $500
X-1 Faster Production
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $700 → $600
X-2 Even Faster Production
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $1,150 → $900
We've dropped the price of the Glue Striker ability and made the Bloon Liquefier upgrade significantly more powerful to hopefully make it a more viable tower choice.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
4-2 Bloon Liquefier + Glue Splatter
  • Buff Splatter AoE: radius increased ― 70 units → 82.5 units
  • Buff Splatter AoE: pierce increased ― 5 → 9
X-4 Glue Striker
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $4,000 → $2,500
It's a tale of two halves for the Ice Tower. We very rarely see the first path upgraded to max and this is likely down to the fact that it's not really worth the cost. Allowing Viral Frost to pop white/zebra bloons should help with that. On the flip side, Absolute Zero is currently too easy to sell and rebuy to infinitely slow down bloons, which can render a costly rush useless. We've bumped up the price to help counter that.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
4-X Viral Frost
  • Buff Damage type changed ― Ice → IceViral
X-4 Absolute Zero
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $2,000 → $3,500
The Ninja-Mortar strategy is still extremely popular in the current meta and we're seeing it a lot in the higher arenas. We've bumped up a couple of upgrade costs to hopefully encourage players to explore other options, whilst still keeping the Mortar a solid tower.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
X-3 Signal Flare
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $550 → $750
X-4 Artillery Battery
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $7,000 → $8,000
We want to make the Banana Republic upgrade that little bit more cost effective than it currently is, so this tweak should make it worth the investment.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
3-X Banana Republic
  • Buff Bananas per round increased ― 13 → 15
    • Note: Cash per round increases from $780 to $900
It's awesome, powerful and super, but is very rarely used outwith Bananza/Mega Boost game modes, so we've decreased some prices to hopefully make it more viable without the special Club rules.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
0-0 base tower
  • Buff Cost reduced ― $3,500 → $3,000
X-1 Super Range
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $1,000 → $800
X-2 Epic Range
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $1,500 → $1,200
The Dartling's first upgrade path tends to be the favoured choice, so we've dropped the cost of its 0-4 upgrade to make it more cost effective.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
X-4 Bloon Area Denial System
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $20,000 → $16,000
Much-like the Super Monkey, the Heli-Pilot[sic] isn't often seen outside of certain Club rulesets. We've dropped a bunch of upgrade prices to make it more accessible in normal game modes, as well as doubled the Downdraft effect when you upgrade to 0-4.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
2-X Pursuit
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $500 → $350
3-X Razor Rotors
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $1,750 → $1,250

  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $2,500 → $1,750
X-4 Support Chinook
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $15,000 → $7,500
  • Buff Downdraft attack: max targets increased ― 1 → 2
We think the Engineer is pretty balanced overall, but we've tweaked a couple of prices to bring them more in line with the power of the upgrade.

  • Neutral Sentry spawner: deployment range reduced ― 195 units → 162.5 units
We think it's close to being just right, but might still be a little too powerful. A decrease in attack speed should mean it'll require support towers to hold off early rounds/rushes, making it more difficult to spam. We've also doubled the initial cooldown for the Misdirection ability as it's just too valuable at the moment.
— Update notes
