Precursor Bloon is a Basic Bloon card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 5.0. If it leaks, it summons a Ceramic Bloon. Leaking a Precursor Bloon will not decrease delay of its summoned Bloon.
Tips

- Avoid leaking this Bloon, or else it will summon a Ceramic Bloon for extremely cheap. Precursor Bloon works best if the opponent cannot afford anything to damage it.
- Barrel of Monkeys (two on Dark Castle), two Dart Monkey Twins, or a Ninja are easy ways to stop a Precursor Bloon from leaking.
- If the opponent only relies on manually targeted Monkeys, Must Pop Bloons such as Target Practice Blimp or Sentinel Bloon may prevent them from destroying a Precursor Bloon.
- Any board clear can neutralize the Precursor Bloon's effect. An exception is if it's Armored, which is resistant to Spike Storm!
- In aggro, if you have both Blooming Bloon and Precursor in your hand, sending the Blooming Bloon first is recommended, as the opponent may be hiding cheap Monkeys.
- The Ceramic that spawns effectively has 3 delay relative to the opponent. More importantly, a 2-delay Monkey such as Alchemist Monkey can attack it up to two times before it leaks.
- Precursor Bloon is very reliant on being drawn early. Even in Aggro decks it's unreliable to make an impact on the game due to needing an extremely early draw to get value, making it a below average card in general. If you can manage to leak it, Precursor Bloon functions as a cheaper, less effective version of Blooming Bloon.

Development
[edit | edit source]During the Version 5.2 playtest, Ninja Kiwi proposed a nerf to Precursor Bloon on Version 5.2 by lowering charges from 2 to 1, which was added to the update unchanged.

[edit | edit source]- The flavor text is a reference to the quote "Life, uh, finds a way", which originates from the film Jurassic Park.
- Precursor Bloon is the first Bloon, and currently the only one, that can summon a Bloon that's not in its own class; the Ceramic Bloon is an Advanced Bloon.
