Bloons TD 6+ is an Apple Arcade version of the mobile version of Bloons TD 6 released in 2022. It is mostly the same as the original game and receives similar content updates with the same version numbering, though it tends to receive updates later and some updates are skipped. The game cannot be downloaded or played without an Apple Arcade Subscription. It supports multiplayer with the mobile version (including its ports to Steam, Epic Games, and the Microsoft Store) and Bloons TD 6 NETFLIX, and player profiles cannot be transferred to other versions.
Differences
[edit | edit source]- This version requires an Apple account with an active Apple Arcade subscription to play. All functionality pertaining to Ninja Kiwi's account system is removed or replaced with this system, with cloud saves instead being handled by iCloud.
- Saves do not function when moved from this version and placed in any other version's save directory. Attempting a manual transfer of an Apple Arcade save file onto another version results in an error, but moving a save file from the iOS version of Bloons TD 6 to Bloons TD 6+ lets the player load the transferred save successfully.
- All usernames and Teams from non-Apple Arcade players are censored and replaced with randomly-generated names. Apple Arcade players' names are displayed normally to other players, however, and they can still friend and join non-Apple Arcade players or teams through friend/team codes.
- Named Monkeys from other players are not visible and default to no name or the player's own Named Monkeys.
- When creating a Team, this version only allows the player to choose randomly-generated names and prevents the player from writing their own names.
- All in-app purchases are disabled and the Shop cannot be accessed. As a result, Shop-only cosmetics, extras, and items (such as the MrBeast Bundle and Fast Track Mode), cannot be unlocked, and players cannot get more uses of Shop-only powers except once from their respective quests.
- Collaboration powers and skins, such as Battle Cat! and She-Ra, can be purchased for
500 and
10,000, respectively, starting from 48.2. Note that associated avatars and banners are still not available whatsoever in Apple Arcade. - Dan D'Monke is always purchasable for Monkey Money, even during the first two weeks of his release, when he was only available through an in-app purchase in the original version.
- Collaboration powers and skins, such as Battle Cat! and She-Ra, can be purchased for
- The Shop is replaced by a save system that lets the player have a limit of three saved accounts. These accounts can be deleted at any point.
- The option to redeem a Gift code is removed. Since accounts do not use the Ninja Kiwi account system, there is no way to redeem a code, even externally on the Ninja Kiwi website.
- All Monkey Money earned is increased by 50%, rounded down.
- The Monkey Fan Club achievement is unobtainable and does not appear in the game's achievements list.
- Upon initial install, all files are downloaded, unlike the regular iOS or Netflix version which requires installing additional files upon launching the app.
- While typically insignificant, this lets any version of Bloons TD 6+ starting from version 29.4 be played, which is normally impossible up until version 35.0 just from installing the game files, as normally the player would be prompted with a mandatory update before 35.0.
- When playing a downgraded version, most online features are disabled, but the trophy store, Daily, and Advanced Challenges can still be accessed. Challenges still draw from the most current version, and in the case of challenges with Least Tiers or Cash, they will not appear if playing on a version without those modifiers.
- Odyssey descriptions are omitted.
- Legends are unlocked by default rather than requiring a separate in-app purchase.
