The editor that added this notice elaborates: Critting attack from a sharp shooter

A critical hit (usually shortened to Crit[1] or crit,[2] and also known as a Crit shot[3]) is a game mechanic in Bloons TD 6, Bloons TD Battles 2, and Bloons Blitz that causes projectiles to sometimes deal significantly more damage. The rate that crit projectiles are fired, and the amount of damage they deal, depends on the attack.

Bloons TD series

edit

Certain towers' attacks periodically fire critical projectiles instead of normal projectiles, which causes them to deal more damage to all Bloons they hit. When a crit projectile damages a Bloon, it displays orange text above it that briefly fades in and moves vertically before fading out. In Battles 2, the text is always "CRIT!", while in BTD6, the text is "CRIT" in English (and Monklish, in a different script) and changes depending on the language setting. In BTD6, the visuals from crits will not be rendered if the Effects Scale setting is set to less than 100%.

Bloons TD 6

edit

The Unspoken Heroes used to allow Support towers to crit, but it was reworked in version 51.0.

Bloons Blitz

edit

Most projectiles in Bloons Blitz have a chance to crit when they damage a Bloon. The crit chance and damage multiplier depends on the projectile, but most have a 2% chance and a double damage modifier. Certain stickers can increase the crit chance and/or damage multiplier, and some can cause crits to trigger additional effects, such as Bloons popped by crits sometimes dropping more XP. The damage number that appears when landing a crit is colored red instead of white.

All Heroes can unlock Better Criticals at level 18, which increases the crit chance of the whole team by 10%. Other Monkeys can choose to increase their crit rate by 2% with Better Criticals or their crit damage multiplier by 20% with Increased Crit Damage at levels 6, 10, 14, and 18.

The following upgrades affect crits:
