Taunting Bloon is a Basic Bloon card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 5.0. Opposing Monkeys that manually target must pop this Bloon first.

The card artwork depicts a Taunting Bloon using two hands as if to taunt, and producing a red exclamation mark. The Taunting Bloon is in front surrounded by several Blue Bloons, Green Bloons, and Yellow Bloons, all of which are in a forest.

  • Taunting Bloon is a very weak option, but some players may apply health-buffing sources (e.g. Improved Fortification and Booster Bloon) to prevent the opponent from targeting other Bloons for a long time. However, doing so will give you less health than Target Practice Blimp for equal or more Gold.
    • Return to Sender is a common option against that type of strategy, since a lot of Gold would've been invested in the first place; the opponent would lack aggression without it.
  • Low-damage 1 reload Monkeys shouldn't have much trouble against Taunting Bloons without buffs, but this can be effective against high-damage Monkeys with longer reload, such as Bomb Shooter if they have nothing else.
  • For the cost, it's outclassed by Target Practice Blimp, due to Taunting Bloon's high cost and very low health per Bloon, despite increased charges. Additionally, Mountain Obyn's Sentinel Bloons fulfill a similar role but better; they don't cost card slots, they can drain the opponent's lives quicker and easier, and can use similar synergies to keep them on the board.
  • Spike Storm! is an easy way to stop a swarm of unbuffed Taunting Bloons. Likewise is Mountain Obyn's Brambles.
  • It is not recommended to run this card. It costs a lot of Gold for extremely low rewards, and is worse than Target Practice Blimp in practically every way.

“
Taunting Bloon beforehand was a frankly awful Bloon. It had low, low stats, it had a higher delay than most Bloons, and it also costed 2. The only thing about it that was good was its Must Pop, and even then, it really didn't matter all that much. But now, with the extra health and reduced delay, it can potentially be a little bit better at doing both of those things, but it still might be a little bit too weak to properly see use, but little better now.

  • Neutral Delay decreased ― 2 → 1

Development

[edit | edit source]

Ninja Kiwi proposed a nerf to Taunting Bloon on Version 5.2 by lowering the charges from 3 to 2, but were reverted by the community.

Version 6.4 changed the Taunting Bloon by increasing its health but lowering its delay, with the main reasons being its extremely low stats for 2 Gold for a Bloon that intends to both damage the Hero and be a Must Pop target.[1]
