Ice King

Ice King is a character in Bloons Adventure Time TD. He unlocks upon completing Winter is Coming on any difficulty. He attacks in an area of effect that covers his entire range. He can hit up to 50 Bloons at a time, dealing 1 Cold-type damage and freezing their outer layers for 1 second. He cannot freeze White Bloons, Zebra Bloons, or MOAB-Class Bloons, or detect Camo Bloons, by default. He is placeable on land, water, and lava.

Ice King's upgrades improve his freezing and slowing capabilities, grant him additional attacks such as firing ice bolts in a circle and firing lightning bolts that can target any Bloon on-screen, and his Activated Ability summons temporary snow monsters that throw freezing snowballs at Bloons. He also enables the Student of Ice upgrade for Sam and the Snowballs upgrade for Juggernaut Max if they are placed within his range.

Ice King cannot equip most trinkets that increase his range. The exceptions are the Apprentice Cap, Basketball, Beauteous Wings, Black Bow Tie, Cursed Ice Ring, Ice Crook, Issue of Ble, and Powerometer.

Star level bonuses

Ice King is a short range high DPS character that is effectively a combination of the Ice Monkey and Tack Shooter that, at level 7, can also freeze MOABs through Big Freeze. His main weakness is his short range and poor ally choice, making him a bad choice in Martian Games but very strong for farming Impoppable.

Like most DPS characters, Ice King wants attack speed and MOAB damage, but because his Ice Bolts cannot be buffed by any attack bonuses, non-specific damage buffs have nearly no effect on his DPS. Baker's Shard is the most important attack speed trinkets for him, while his weapon should be Cherry Blossom Wand as it gives lots of attack speed, although he cannot take advantage of its bonus damage. Engineers Blueprints is practically essential for boosting his DPS, and Arrow of Ice lets him unlock Arrows of Frozen Rain, one of the few ways of buffing his raw damage and range. Another character should use Cursed Ice Ring so that his attack speed is buffed even further, alongside the usual suite of attack speed buffs.
