Changes

[edit | edit source]
  • Season Rewards from seasons 19 to 23 can now appear in the Daily Offers
  • Moved Hero Challenge from the main menu to the "Solo Play" menu
We’re giving Ice Monkey some extra MOAB damage and buffing its higher tier abilities to make it more useful in the late game.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
X-5-X Absolute Zero
  • Buff Ability: freeze/buff duration increased ― 10s → 12s
X-X-3 Cryo Cannon
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $1,750 → $1,300
X-X-4 Icicles
  • Buff Damage to MOAB-Class increased ― +3 → +6
X-X-5 Icicle Impale
  • Buff Icicle: damage to MOAB-Class increased ― +48 → +68
We are buffing the Rocket Storm ability to make it more capable of handling mid game rushes like tight leads and MOABs.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
X-3-X Hydra Rocket Pods
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $5,600 → $5,100
X-4-X Rocket Storm
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $5,100 → $5,500
X-4-X Rocket Storm
X-5-X M.A.D
  • Buff Ability: rocket explosion base damage increased ― 4 → 5
  • Buff Ability: duration increased ― 8s → 10s
Tiers Changes
3-X-X Primary Training
  • Description changed ― "All Primary Monkeys in radius get more range, pierce and projectile speed." → "All nearby Primary Monkeys and Pat Fusty get more range, pierce and projectile speed."
4-X-X Primary Mentoring
  • Description changed ― "All Primary Monkeys in radius get tier 1 upgrades for free, increased range and reduced ability cooldowns." → "All Primary Monkeys in radius get tier 1 upgrades for free. Both they and Pat Fusty get increased range and reduced ability cooldowns."
5-X-X Primary Expertise
  • Description changed ― "Adds Mega Ballista attack, plus all Primary Monkeys in radius get more popping power and tier 1 and 2 upgrades for free." → "Adds Mega Ballista attack, plus all nearby Primary Monkeys and Pat Fusty get more popping power. Nearby Primary Monkeys also get tier 1 and 2 upgrades for free."
Tiers Changes
X-X-2 Banana Salvage
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $300 → $240
X-X-2 Banana Salvage and further upgrades
  • Neutral Bottom path is no longer affected by Quality Soil (as the costs have been lowered to match what they were intended to be)
X-X-3 Marketplace
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $3,500 → $2,800
X-X-4 Central Market
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $16,250 → $13,000
X-X-5 Monkey Wall Street
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $57,500 → $46,000
Spike Factory is getting a lot of use right now in several different popular strategies. Similar to how we buffed the Spiked Mines upgrade in 4.3, we are nerfing the bottom path to encourage different uses of the tower.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
X-X-3 Long life spikes
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $750 → $1,200
The Engineer has been languishing at the bottom of the “most used towers” list for a while. This change makes the sentry expert more useful immediately since it no longer needs to wait to generate its special sentry towers, and also opens up some interesting micro opportunities.
— Update notes
Tiers Changes
4-X-X Sentry Expert
  • Buff Now immediately spawns 6 Sentries when the upgrade is purchased
  • Description changed ― "Scientist Gwen's highly experimental compounds burn faster and hotter than any normal fire!" → "Scientist Gwen's highly experimental compounds burn faster and hotter when exposed to chemicals like glue and acid!"
Pat Fusty has been lacking synergy with any other towers for a while now and his popularity has suffered a lot because of it. Pat Fusty is a simple fellow so we thought synergy with Primary Monkeys was a good fit and gave him a weaker but more versatile version of Fusty the Snowman’s speed boost. We also made Pat an honorary Primary Monkey so that he can benefit from the Village’s top path upgrades, creating a new use for some fairly niche upgrades.
— Update notes
Levels Changes
All
  • Buff Pat is now considered a Primary tower by Primary Training, Primary Mentoring, and Primary Expertise
  • Buff Now levels up 40% faster when buffed by Primary Mentoring
  • Buff Now levels up 80% faster when buffed by Primary Expertise
3+
  • Buff Rallying Roar: now gives Primary towers (including himself) within range +20% attack speed in addition to other buffs
  • Description changed ― "Rallying Roar: All nearby Monkeys can pop +1 layer for a short time." → "Rallying Roar: All nearby Monkeys can pop +1 layer and Primary Monkeys attack faster for a short time."
10-19
  • Buff Big Squeeze: towers in range get +3 damage while the ability is in use
  • Description changed ― "Big Squeeze: Grabs a MOAB, BFB, DDT (if visible), or ZOMG and crushes it to bits over 5 seconds." → "Big Squeeze: Grabs a MOAB, BFB, DDT (if visible), or ZOMG and crushes it to bits. Nearby monkeys deal extra damage while he does it."
20
  • Buff Big Squeeze: towers in range get +9 damage while the ability is in use
  • Description changed ― "Big Squeeze can grab several big Bloons at once and crush them quicker." → "Big Squeeze can grab several big Bloons at once and crush them quicker. Nearby monkeys do even more damage."
Despite having a much clearer strategy, Fusty the Snowman also suffers from very low play rates. Letting him remove the Ice Monkey’s main weakness makes the pairing much stronger in the early game.
— Update notes
Levels Changes
5+
  • Buff Now allows all Ice Monkeys to pop and freeze White Bloons
  • Buff Slap: now creates 6 ice shards on each frozen Bloon it hits
  • Description changed ― "Sometimes does a powerful slap that pushes bloons away from the exit." → "Sometimes does a powerful slap that pushes bloons away from the exit. Frozen bloons hit explode in shards of ice. All Ice Monkeys can pop white and zebra bloons."
10-19
  • Buff Crushing Ice: Bloons in range are slowed to 40% speed while the ability is in use
  • Description changed ― "Crushing Ice: Grabs a MOAB, BFB, DDT (if visible), or ZOMG and crushes it until it bursts in a cloud of freezing snow." → "Crushing Ice: Grabs a MOAB, BFB, DDT (if visible), or ZOMG and crushes it until it bursts in a cloud of freezing snow. Nearby Bloons are slowed while he does it."
20
  • Buff Crushing Ice: Bloons in range are slowed to 20% speed while the ability is in use
  • Description changed ― "Crushing Ice can grab several big Bloons at once and creates a bigger and more powerful snow burst." → "Crushing Ice can grab several big Bloons at once and creates a bigger and more powerful snow burst. Nearby Bloons are slowed even more."
A small buff to the initial cooldown of Highwayman Jericho’s ability allows him to start stealing from the opponent quicker and brings him more in line with the power level of the other Jericho variants.
— Update notes
Levels Changes
3+
  • Buff Stand and Deliver: initial cooldown reduced ― 45s → 35s
Ports is a difficult map with a fairly low play rate. We are removing the blue crate to allow a larger variety of starting towers and reducing the cost of removing the other crates.
— Update notes
  • Neutral Removed the blue crate on the left
  • Neutral Cost to remove crates reduced ― $500 → $300
The very fast send speed of Tight Leads made them a powerful source of income which wasn’t their intended use. We are significantly reducing their income gain to reinforce the fact that they are intended to be used as an offensive rush. Tight Ceramic Bloons have been left behind by other tower and bloon send buffs so we are reducing their cost to make them a more efficient send.
— Update notes
  • Neutral Tight Lead: income modifier reduced ― +$22 → +$7
  • Neutral Tight Ceramic: cost reduced ― $3,400 → $2,800

Bug fixes

  • "Fixed tooltips not appearing when viewing accolades in some places"
  • "Fixed reactions to clan chat messages being added twice"
  • "Fixed Highwayman Jericho appearing in much lower resolution than the other heroes on the hero screen"
