Heli Pilots are monkeys in the Bloons TD series that operate a small helicopter, which they use to attack Bloons. They were introduced in the mobile version of Bloons TD 5.
Gameplay
The Heli Pilot is a tower that directly follows the player's cursor/touch and hovers over the map no matter where the player has led it. When near Bloons, it fires a set of twin dart guns in front of it. Like the Monkey Ace, Heli Pilots are summoned from a pad that the player can click/tap on to access its upgrades.
In Bloons TD 5, it has two upgrade paths. The top path focuses on damage, including an upgrade where it can be controlled by the game instead of the player, while the bottom path focuses on support, specifically through knocking back Bloons near the Pilot and cash generation. Its Specialty Building in BTD5 is the Heli Hangar, while its main buildings in Bloons Monkey City are the Heli Pad and Heli Pilot Flight School.
In Bloons TD 6 and Battles 2, the Heli Pilot is classed as a Military tower. Its upgrade paths remain largely the same, with the addition of a new bottom path that focuses on faster damage and shoving back MOAB-Class Bloons in front of the Pilot.

Other appearances
While the Heli Pilot doesn't directly appear in Bloons Adventure Time TD, the character Marceline and her Hunter Marceline variant function as stand-ins for the tower, being similarly controlled by the player.
General information
Appearance
Base Heli Pilots are usually portrayed as probably-naked monkeys with brown fur, tan skin and brown eyes wearing a black cap and red-framed goggles with brown straps draped over their foreheads. Their helicopters are portrayed as green, small single-person aircraft with no cockpit window, muzzles for their twin dart guns sticking out in the front, and yellow stripes on their main rotor. Heli Pilots are shown to control their aircraft via twin red joysticks that slightly stick out the front.
