Bloons TD (also called Bloons TD iOS to distinguish it from the Flash version of Bloons TD 3 and emphasize its exclusivity on iOS) is a mobile game in the Bloons TD series developed by Digital Goldfish and published by Ninja Kiwi on October 2009. It is based on the Flash version of Bloons TD 3, but remade in a new engine with redone graphics and additional content. This game is the basis for the PSP and DSi versions of Bloons TD 3.

The iOS version is 32-bit and thus, most devices cannot run it, as the game does not run on iOS 11 and above. Despite this, the game is still available for purchase on the app store on iOS 10 and earlier devices.

Differences from the Flash version

  • This version does not reduce cash per pop after Round 50 upon starting Freeplay, while the Flash version makes only a fraction of bloons popped give cash after Round 50.
  • Jungle Drums has no effect.
  • This version introduces Near and Far targeting options.

External Services

OpenFeint

Bloons TD iOS formerly had achievements enabled through OpenFeint in Version 1.1. In addition, it also had leaderboards and chat enabled for OpenFeint.[2] This was removed in Version 1.2.1 with the shutdown of OpenFeint in 2012, indicated with the removal of the OpenFeint logo on the game's icon. If someone runs the 1.1 version of the game today, they cannot connect with OpenFeint, so OpenFeint features cannot be accessed.

References

  1. In the files of the iOS version, iTunesMetadata.plist contains this timestamp.
  2. in the game files of version 1.1, openfeint_offline_config.xml mentions features that are enabled on the top of the file.
