Sex

Gender is a game mechanic in Bloons Adventure Time TD that provides specific buffs to Characters holding certain Trinkets, while standing near a character of the opposite gender. For the buff to apply, characters of the opposite gender must be in the range of the character holding the trinket.

Black Bow Tie	+6 Range and +15% Attack Speed while near a female character.	Male characters
Mind Games	Character's upgrades and allies are 5% cheaper when in range of a female character.	Male characters
Cursed Ice Ring	+4 Range and +15% Attack Speed while near a male character. If near Ice King, he gets this effect too.	Female characters

Allies are never considered to have a gender, and thus do not provide any benefits to characters holding gender influenced trinkets.
