Odyssey Events are weekly singleplayer events played in Odyssey mode. Each event has three versions, one for each difficulty level, and their islands can have custom round sets. Each difficulty level uses a different configuration and has different rewards for completing the Odyssey. If the player completes one Odyssey, they can replay it on another difficulty level. Unlike regular Odysseys, event Odysseys can have custom [[round]]s.

An Odyssey Event is active every week, usually starting Thursday at 02:00:00 UTC and ending Wednesday at 02:00:00 UTC. Exceptions are possible, such as when a major update is about to be released, which leads to the event starting late or ending early.

Most Odyssey Events use following restrictions on Powers. They have eight Power seats, 30 max Powers, and allow any Power to be equipped, and 24 Powers equipped by default.

Crew Details of an Odyssey

Odyssey is a game mode in Bloons TD 6 introduced in version 19.0. In an Odyssey, the player plays through a series of maps, each with different modes and challenge rules, using a single pool of lives and a limited amount of towers and powers.

Mechanics

Viewing Island Rules for the first island of an Odyssey

The player begins an Odyssey by building a crew consisting of towers, Powers, and one Hero. The player then plays through a series of islands (3 on Easy Odysseys, 4 on Medium Odysseys, or 5 on Hard Odysseys), each consisting of a map, difficulty, mode, and set of challenge rules, using that crew. If the player loses on one island, they can restart from the first round of that island. At any time, the player can also reset the whole Odyssey and start over with a different crew. Upon completing an island, the player progresses to the next one in order (the player cannot enter freeplay), winning by completing all islands.

The player has one set of lives shared between all islands. The player's starting lives also determines their max lives, which prevents the player from gaining more lives than they started with, though the player can recover lives that were lost on an island. If the player completes an island with less lives than they started with, the next island sets the player's max lives to their current lives, effectively making it impossible to recover those lives for the rest of the Odyssey. Impoppable and CHIMPS do not affect the player's lives.

Crew

Creating a crew

The player's crew determines which towers and Powers they have access to for the entire Odyssey. On each island, the player can only use tower and power types that they have assigned seats for, and they can only place as many copies of them as they have assigned to each seat. The set of towers and powers the player can choose from, the maximum number of copies of each tower or power that the player can add, and the number of "seats" they can be placed in, all depend on the Odyssey's settings. Filling all seats and/or copies is not required.

  • The player has one seat for a Hero.
  • The player can choose tower types up to the number of monkey seats available (which can be anywhere from 1 to 16 depending on the Odyssey), and add copies of those towers up to the maximum number of monkeys or maximum copies allowed of that tower type. For example, if the Odyssey has two monkey seats and six max monkeys, the player can fill these with two Dart Monkeys and four Boomerang Monkeys, which means the player can only have up to two Dart Monkeys and four Boomerang Monkeys placed on a map at a time for that Odyssey. The player cannot add another Dart Monkey or Boomerang Monkey to their crew without removing one of the other, since that would exceed their six max monkeys, and they cannot add Bomb Shooters without removing all Dart Monkeys or Boomerang Monkeys, since that would exceed their two monkey seats. The player can only use Insta Monkeys of tower types that have seats, and they count as copies of that tower type when placed.
  • The player can choose power types up to the number of power seats available (which can be anywhere from 1 to 8 depending on the Odyssey), and add copies of those powers up to the maximum number of powers or maximum copies allowed of that power type.

Extreme mode

In Extreme mode, any copies of non-Hero towers the player places on an island's map become unusable on later islands. For example, if the player has six copies of Boomerang Monkeys and they place two on the first island, they can only use four Boomerang Monkeys on the second island. Selling a tower does allow the player to use that copy again for that island, but not for later islands.

Odyssey Events

Odyssey Events are weekly singleplayer events played in Odyssey mode. Each event has three different Odysseys, one for each difficulty level. Each difficulty level uses a different configuration and has different rewards for completing the Odyssey. If the player completes one Odyssey, they can replay it on another difficulty level. Unlike regular Odysseys, event Odysseys can have custom rounds.

An Odyssey Event is active every week, usually starting Thursday at 02:00:00 UTC and ending Wednesday at 02:00:00 UTC. Exceptions are possible, such as when a major update is about to be released, which leads to the event starting late or ending early.

Powers

Most Odyssey Events use following restrictions on Powers. They have eight Power seats, 30 max Powers, and allow any Power to be equipped, and 24 Powers equipped by default.

Power Default amount Maximum
Sword of Protection 0
Battle Cat! 0
Super Monkey Storm 3 4

Road Spikes 8 24
Glue Trap 2 4
MOAB Mine 2 4
Camo Trap 2 4
Portable Lake 0 4
Tech Bot 2 4

Rewards

The player earns the same Monkey Money for completing an island as replaying that island's map on that island's mode. Completing the Odyssey earns additional rewards at the end depending on the difficulty. The player can replay the Odyssey to earn the rewards on other difficulty levels, except Trophies, medals, and Collection Event items, which are not cumulative.
