Skull Tweak is a Beginner map in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 55.0. It is a tweaked version of the map Skull Peak from Bloons TD 5.

Layout

Bloons enter from the bottom-left and exit at the top-left. The layout is entirely composed of 90° and straights, with bloons first taking a few small U-turns and bends before passing through the right side of the skull and exiting the left side; they then take a couple more turns before exiting. Towers cannot be placed on the skull.

Easter egg

Interacting with the water spots in front of the skull makes the map harder by changing the entrance to the two eyes of the skull. Interacting the following spots before starting the first round changes the map layout and transforms it into Party Peak, as well as changing the map's default music track to Tribes - Jaloon:

  1. The bottom-left water quadrant
  2. The top-right water quadrant
  3. The top-left water quadrant
  4. The bottom-right water quadrant
  5. The bird nest

Strategy

Normal version

A simple but lengthy map with fair coverage, Skull Tweak falls on the easier side of Beginner maps. Most strategies work well on this map, but flying towers and towers that ignore obstacles work better on this map than the others due to the skull being a major line of sight blocker.

A map that is on the same level as a slightly above average Advanced map. The dual lanes make it difficult in the early and late-game, but the fact that both lanes overlap and a lack of line of sight blocker between them separates it from the hardest maps like Party Parade and Castle Revenge. The same strategy can work on both layouts of this map; it all comes down to placement.

Tower Image Reasoning
Monkey Ace/Heli Pilot
Can reach and hit all parts of the map while ignoring the skull’s line of sight blocker. All paths work well, and can dominate all parts of the game
Summon Phoenix File:BTD6 040-WizardMonkey.png When crosspathed with the top path, the Phoenix’s attacks can hit through the skull. Crosspathing isn’t necessary as this tower can succeed without it, but it creates more consistency with its attacks.
Destroyer Placing it in the water near the docks and crosspathing with Hot Shots will tear Ceramics and Rainbows to shreds, and deal big damage to MOABs, BFBs, and ZOMGs
Pre-emptive Strike The Pre-emptive Strike works on the main map, but excels on the harder layout. Any MOAB Class Bloon will spawn with tons of damage, relieving pressure on both paths and paving the way to the BAD on round 100.
