Monkey Villages are monkeys that debuted in Bloons TD 5, and are a recurring element of the Bloons TD series. They are wooden huts that provide support to other monkeys in battle by providing them with stat buffs.
Despite being called "villages", Monkey Villages are usually depicted as a single building with no visible occupants. Similar-looking huts have appeared as background details in some Bloons games, such as on the main menus of Bloons TD 5 and Bloons TD 6, but they are not explicitly identified as Monkey Villages. One such hut appears as a decorative item in Bloons Pop! under the name "Monkey House", supporting this distinction.
Gameplay
The Monkey Village is the successor to the Monkey Beacon from Bloons Tower Defense 3 and Bloons TD 4 and fulfils a similar role. It is a tower that does not attack, instead providing buffs to other towers within its range. In Bloons TD 5, Bloons TD Battles, and Bloons Monkey City, the unupgraded Monkey Village provides a discount, while in Bloons TD 6 and Bloons TD Battles 2, it provides a range buff. It can be upgraded to provide other buffs and benefits. In Bloons Monkey City, the Monkey Village also appears as a Monkey Building under the same name. In BTD6 and Battles 2, it is classified as a Support tower.
"Village" is a Monkey type shared by two Support-class cards, including the basic Monkey Village. All Villages are unable to attack, but provide buffs to other Monkeys adjacent to them.
- Monkey Village increases the ATK of adjacent Monkeys.
- Radar Scanner Village increases the ATK of adjacent Monkeys and grants them detect.
Lore
- When Monkey Villages are sold, they are packed up and shipped back home[1] or re-kitted for the next battle.[2]
- When asked about the insides of Monkey Villages, Dr. Monkey "talked for hours about tardises [and] the space-time continuum", implying that they are bigger on the inside. The appearance of the insides change to reflect each upgrade.[3]
