Powers Pro (also known as Pro Powers) are enhanced versions of Powers in Bloons TD 6, introduced in version 50.0. They are separate items from their base Powers and do not permanently replace them when unlocked. They have more powerful effects than regular Powers, but cost more Monkey Money to purchase. Each Power Pro also has nine upgrades, split into three paths of three tiers of upgrades, that cost cash.

The player can unlock Powers Pro with XP gained by purchasing and using their base Powers, with each Power Pro having its own XP meter. Tier 2 and tier 3 Power Pro upgrades also require XP to unlock, but the player can earn XP more efficiently by purchasing and using Powers Pro after unlocking them. Not all Powers have a Pro version; future updates will add more to the game over time.[1]

Unlocking

[edit | edit source]

The player cannot purchase or use a Power Pro without unlocking it first (outside of the Pro Power Challenge). Powers Pro earned as rewards, such as from Odyssey Events, are not usable before the player unlocks them. The player can unlock a Power Pro either by earning enough of its XP, or by purchasing packs from the Shop (which is not an option in Bloons TD 6+ and Bloons TD 6 NETFLIX). After unlocking a Power Pro, its tier 2 and tier 3 upgrades require additional XP to unlock. Each type of Power Pro has different XP requirements for each tier.

The player can earn XP for a Power Pro through the following methods:

  • Purchasing a regular Power earns XP equal to its Monkey Money cost times 8.
  • Using a regular Power (outside of Legends and Contested Territory) earns XP equal to its Monkey Money cost times 2.
  • Powers Pro use the same formula for earning XP from purchasing and using them, except they earn twice as much relative to their cost.

Upgrades

The editor who added this notice elaborates: confirm that each player can have a T3 Power Pro on Co-op

Powers Pro have their own upgrades. Like regular towers, they have three upgrade paths, but they only have three upgrade tiers each, and they cannot have crosspaths; purchasing the first upgrade on one path locks all the other paths. Each player can only have one tier 3 Power Pro per path on the map at a time, similar to tier 5 upgrades of regular towers.

Powers Pro count towards maximum tower limits in the Challenge Editor and events. However, their upgrades do not count towards Least Tiers.

Total Monkey Money costs to unlock

[edit | edit source]

Note that these total costs round up if their cost is not evenly divisible by the XP to unlock.

By buying and placing regular Powers

[edit | edit source]
Power Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3
Banana Farmer Pro 1,000 6,000 21,000
Hype Boost Monkey 1,000 6,000 21,000
Portable Lake Pro 1,250 8,250 28,250
Super Monkey Beacon 1,300 8,300 28,300
Tech Bot Prime 1,250 8,250 28,250

By buying and placing Powers Pro

[edit | edit source]

Powers Pro are twice as cost-efficient as regular Powers for earning XP, both when purchased and placed. However, the player cannot use Powers Pro before unlocking them, so it is impossible to use them to gain XP for the first tier. Thus, these total costs exclude the XP required to unlock the first tier.

Power Tier 2 Tier 3
Banana Farmer Pro 2,500 10,000
Hype Boost Monkey 2,700 10,200
Portable Lake Pro 3,600 13,500
Super Monkey Beacon 3,600 13,600
Tech Bot Prime 3,600 13,500

Development

[edit | edit source]

Powers Pro are based on Special Agent Pros from Bloons TD 5.[1] "Power Pros" were teased in the update notes for version 15.0,[2] then brought up in passing on the Ninja Kiwi Blog several months later,[3] but were never mentioned again until the update notes for version 47.0,[4] almost five years later. According to the update notes for version 50.0, the development team revived the concept after it "had enough design and discussion to evolve to the right extent to merit inclusion in BTD6."[1]
