RAPID (short for Razor Air Performance Improving Drone[1]) is a Basic Bloon card in Bloons Card Storm, introduced in version 4.0. It is immobile and starts with 50 Shield. At the start of each of the player's turns, it reduces the delay of the last Bloon in the player's Bloon track that does not have the immobile property (including itself) by 1. Only one copy of this card can be in the Collection.
Tips
- RAPID is a cheaper alternative to using conventional delay reducers (especially Quick Ready) and can reduce delay of bloons gradually, but is limited to the bloons at the back of the queue and is vulnerable to burst damage and powerful board clears.
- As a Zee Jay aggro player, having the Rad Bloon with a RAPID can help push that Bloon while the opponent may struggle with many one-delay Bloons.
- Because the RAPID cannot target Bloons that are Immobile, a RAPID could be paired with multiple other Immobile Bloons such as ARBITR and extra RAPIDs (via Double Trouble, or stolen RAPID from Bloon Redirect).
- RAPID's delay reduction effect occurs after the Storm, making it a viable option on early Storm Bloons such as the Yellow, Ceramic, and MOAB. Elsewhere, the delay reduction is only effective for 2 or more delay Bloons.
- Protecting RAPID can quickly cause the game to snowball in your favor if the opponent cannot effectively respond to it. It is best saved in your hand until it will immediately get value by the next turn, as the opponent will likely prioritize popping it.
Update history
“
This is a big shield buff, and you might be wondering why RAPID even needed the buff. RAPID was a really good Bloon if it could get its effect off; its effect is incredibly powerful for 4. The issue is that this Bloon was not terribly strong, and moreso it was such a massive threat that your opponent would immediately hard-target it [...] 150 health/50 shield was 200 health beforehand. [...] With this buff, it's now 220, which makes it a little bit easier to survive a couple things it couldn't before; can survive things like two Sniper shots and a Dart Monkey, and more importantly [...] it can survive Bionic Boomerang, which allows RAPID to be a little bit more tanky and survive more stuff, generally letting it get a proc or two off before it dies a little easier now, which helps because this Bloon often would just die without doing anything beforehand.

Development
RAPID's shield was increased to let it survive better against an opponent's immediate reaction, so the fundamental benefit of RAPID remains but is less fallible to Monkeys, especially the then-nerfed Bionic Boomerang.[2] With now having an effective 220 tank, and the new Bionic Boomerang only dealing 200 damage, more defense is needed,[2] and, although not stated explicitly in OdysseyTOS's tester commentary, is still vulnerable to Super Monkey and Bloon Redirect (unless buffed by Dark Castle or Zee Jay).
