Apopalypse (BTD6)

Apopalypse icon in Bloons TD 6

Apopalypse is a game mode in Bloons TD 6. In standard play, it is played on Medium difficulty. In singleplayer, it can only be played on a map after completing it on Military Only. In this game mode, the rounds are replaced with randomly generated rounds, which get harder as the round number increases. Additionally, there is no pause in between rounds even with the Auto-Start option turned off, and the Bloons in a round will spawn even before all the Bloons from previous round(s) have not been popped yet. Unlike in most other game modes, on-screen objects such as spikes from a Spike Factory are not cleared at the end of rounds.

Rounds

Each round is randomly generated from preset groups of specific Bloon types, with a certain spawn time and count. Most waves echo those of regular rounds; for example the camo green bloon will appear on round 23, groups of camo regrow greens and spaced camo white Bloons appear on or about rounds 36 and 37. It uses the same system as freeplay mode and generates rounds in the same way after round 140. Rounds are determined using a seed system able to generate $2^{31}-2$ possible combinations, but events and custom challenges use a fixed seed for all players. On Apopalypse, due to future rounds spawning before the current round is all popped, going home from the game and re-entering can greatly reduce Apopalypse's difficulty. More information about this method is found in the linked strategy article. Since more challenging Bloons appear earlier (such as Round 19 for Camos, Round 20 for Leads, and Round 33 for Ceramics), strong towers must be bought further in advance and the defense must be able to pop all types of Bloons.
