This is a settled discussion about changing something about Blooncyclopedia. Do not modify it.

Outcome: Option B

Currently, the use of disambiguation for article titles that have different pluralization, but are otherwise identical, is inconsistent. For example, for Triple Barrel (BTD5) and Triple Barrels (BATTD), the plural version does have an identifier, but there are no identifiers for Snowball and Snowballs. (Admittedly, I did bot-generate most of the pages with this issue, so I probably should've put more thought into the titles before generating them, but better late than never.) This situation is currently not explicitly covered in the article title guidelines, so this proposal is to establish a formal guideline for this.

There are two ways we can handle this:

  • Option A: article titles that only differ in pluralization should always have disambiguation identifiers.
  • Option B: article titles that only differ in pluralization should not have disambiguation (unless another article with the same pluralization exists).

I should probably point out that if option A passes, then several articles would need additional disambiguation, such as:

If option B passes, disambiguation would be removed from certain articles, such as:

Option A

  1. Gonna lean towards this as it's more "new wiki user friendly". These users might not fully realize the difference between Snowball the level vs Snowballs the Juggernaut Max upgrade, which can be frustrating. Adding disambiguation to pluralized content should be able to lead users to the right page when they do make that mistake. --Planterror (talk) 03:07, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
  2. I feel like this allows new users - and also all users - to make less mistakes overall, and make them easier to catch too. If there would ever be a point where hatnotes would be introduced in this wiki, a major part of the work would already be done for "partial title matches". I strongly lean towards this option. Option B

  1. My preference. polavux
  2. I also like this option, I would just suggest to force the About template to point users to the other article(s). Drgoku282 (talk) 22:59, 16 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
  3. Same here. I think the template is enough. Pixelentropy (talk) 00:28, 17 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
  4. Btw bwiki uses Option B for the most part, and a weird mix of Option B for cases with punctuation instead of plurals (e.g. Red Hot Rangs vs Red Hot 'Rangs). Yeah B is better in most cases but does this mean we'll need to use two brackets for Hot Shot Hot Shots? but what about punctuation? Do nothing and leave it inconsistent
