The DSi version of Bloons TD 4 is a port of the mobile version of Bloons TD 4 for the Nintendo DSi and DSi XL. Through backwards compatibility, it can also be played on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. It was released digitally as a DSiWare title for the Nintendo DSi Shop and Nintendo eShop in North America in 2012 and in Europe in 2013. The game can no longer be bought or downloaded, as the Nintendo DSi Shop was discontinued on 31 March 2017[1] and the Nintendo eShop was discontinued on 28 March 2023.[2]
Differences from the mobile version
[edit | edit source]This game is based on version 1.0 of the Android port and has the first 19 maps it released with (using the same path lengths). It is missing all of the content added to the mobile version post-release, such as the Bee Keeper. It also has the following differences:
- Apopalypse, Deflation, and challenge mode are absent.
- Natural Ceramic Bloons move extremely quickly, which appears to be a bug. Ceramic Bloons that spawn from M.O.A.Bs move at their normal speed.
- There are no in-app purchases.
Controls
[edit | edit source]
Like Bloons TD, Bloons TD 4 uses touch controls to place and select towers on the bottom screen and button controls to navigate on the top screen.
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| D-pad | Move cursor on the top screen, navigate the track selection menu |
| A | Press the highlighted button on the top screen |
| Start | Pause the game |
Version differences
[edit | edit source]The North American release is version 1.0, while the European release is version 1.1. The differences are unknown.

Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Despite releasing after Digital Goldfish was bought out by Ninja Kiwi, the game still uses Digital Goldfish's name, logo, and the copyright text "Developed by Digital Goldfish Ltd under license by Ninja Kiwi", as the company did not legally change its name to Ninja Kiwi Europe until 26 March 2013.[3] The European release is the last official Bloons game to use Digital Goldfish's branding.
