Insta Monkeys (also written as Insta-Monkeys or simply Instas) are a game mechanic in Bloons TD 6. They are towers with preset upgrades that the player can deploy at any time without spending any cash. They are considered a type of Power, and thus are not usable in modes where Powers are disabled, such as CHIMPS and ranked events.

Completing rounds

The highest possible tier of the Insta Monkey on round 100 depends on the difficulty of the map, and each tier has a different weighting, while Insta Monkeys for rounds 200 and on use the same weighting regardless of difficulty. On Primary Only, Military Only, and Magic Monkeys Only, the Insta Monkeys will always be towers of their corresponding tower category. There is no equivalent for Support towers.

Collection Chests

Borders
[edit | edit source]On the Collection screen, borders are added around the towers' icons, similar to the map borders, once a certain set of Insta Monkeys for that tower have been collected. A gold border is added if the player has all Insta Monkeys for that tower up to tier 4, which is replaced with a black border if the player has all tier 5 Insta Monkeys as well.

- Now rewards an Insta Monkey for every 100th round completed (not just round 100), with a different probability distribution than the one on round 100

Notes
[edit | edit source]- Insta Monkeys without any upgrades bought on them will not sell for any cash.
- An Insta Monkey of a locked tower/upgrade can still be obtained and placed. However, Insta Monkeys of towers/upgrades restricted in the Challenge Editor cannot be placed.
- Certain Insta Monkeys have special interactions:
- The Sun Temple and True Sun God do not sacrifice towers when placed. They can also be placed in water.
- Monkeyopolis does not sacrifice towers, but it generates 10x $120 crates per round.
- Beast Handlers with top or bottom path upgrades can be placed in locations without the required terrain, but water/air beasts cannot be deployed, transfer or receive Beast Power, or be upgraded on that path until their respective terrains appear within range.
