Bloons TD Battles 2+ is an Apple Arcade version of Bloons TD Battles 2 released in 2024. It is mostly the same as the original game and receives similar content updates with the same version numbering. The game cannot be downloaded or played without an Apple Arcade Subscription. It supports multiplayer with Bloons TD Battles 2, but player profiles cannot be transferred to other versions.
Differences
[edit | edit source]- This version requires an Apple account with an active Apple Arcade subscription to play. All functionality pertaining to Ninja Kiwi's account system is removed or replaced with this system, with cloud saves instead being handled by iCloud.
- All usernames from non-Apple Arcade players are censored and replaced with randomly-generated names. Apple Arcade players' names are displayed normally to other players, however, and they can still friend and join non-Apple Arcade clans through codes. Quiet mode is enabled with no way of removing it.
- When creating a Clan, this version only allows the player to choose randomly-generated names and descriptions, and prevents the player from writing their own names or descriptions.
- All in-app purchases and ads are disabled and the Shop features no real-money purchases.
- The player is treated as having Club Membership by default, but without the Monkey Money multiplier.
- Products that are unlocked by watching ads are replaced with Reward Boosts, like in the desktop versions.
- Hero Packs cost
2,000 Monkey Money and do not contain Monkey Money. Other cosmetic item packs, such as Showcases and the Starter Pack, cannot be purchased at all. - Monkey Money purchases, Reward Boost purchases, and limited time event booster packs are disabled.
- Nexus creator codes are disabled and items unlocked with creator codes are unobtainable.
- There is a save system that lets the player have a limit of three saved accounts. These accounts can be deleted at any point.
- Limited offline functionality is supported. Browsing through towers and heroes is supported alongside Hero Challenges and Scientist Gwen's Bloon Lab, but purchasing new things or changing cosmetics from the towers and heroes tab is unsupported. The other three tabs are completely grayed out.
- The option to redeem a Gift code is removed. Since accounts do not use the Ninja Kiwi account system, there is no way to redeem a code, even externally on the Ninja Kiwi website.
- Upon initial install, all files are downloaded, unlike the regular iOS version which requires installing additional files upon launching the app.
