Bloons Blitz is an upcoming bullet heaven game in the Bloons franchise developed by Ninja Kiwi. It is the third roguelike experience in the franchise, following the Rogue Legends DLC in Bloons TD 6 and the Striker's Adventure campaign in Bloons Card Storm. In this game, the player takes control of a Hero fighting against endless waves of Bloons that are constantly approaching them.[3] The player can collect experience to increase the Hero's level and unlock upgrades and Monkeys to add to their team. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases and advertisements.[2]
In the game's plot, Quincy receives a campervan from Quincy Senior for his birthday, which he uses to travel the world.[4] The player uses this campervan to travel between areas.[5] While Quincy is the first Hero the player unlocks, they can play as other Heroes.
On 19th May 2026, the game soft-launched in an early access state exclusively in the Philippines. This build is considered version 0.7 and is missing several features that will be in the finished game. The game will release in more regions over time.[6]
Gameplay

Bloons Blitz is played in portrait orientation. The player controls a Hero by moving them around the map with a virtual control stick. The Hero automatically attacks nearby enemy Bloons every few seconds. If the Hero touches a Bloon, they take damage, and if they run out of health, the player loses the level.
Popping Bloons causes experience to drop, which the Hero can pick up to increase their level. Each time the Hero levels up, the player can choose an upgrade, which can be a buff to their Hero, a new Monkey for their team, or a buff for an existing Monkey. The other Monkeys follow the Hero around and automatically attack, but cannot take damage. The player can add up to three Monkeys to their team per level. Outside of a level, the player can also equip stickers to their Hero to apply passive buffs to their entire team.
Playing levels costs Energy. Each level takes place on an infinitely large map populated with random Bloons and obstacles. The player progresses by popping Bloons, and certain events occur once the player reaches a certain number of pops, such as activating checkpoints and Boss Bloon battles. There are also Encounters that randomly spawn across the map and activate temporary power-ups if the Hero stands in their area for a few seconds. Completing levels earns various rewards and unlocks new levels and/or versions of existing levels. Levels have five different versions: three different tiers of difficulty, and two challenge versions that apply restrictions, such as limiting the Hero to one health or only allowing specific Monkeys to appear.
Heroes
Heroes are the game's playable characters. Each Hero has a unique method of attacking and unique upgrades. The player can only choose up to 10 upgrades for a Hero per game.
The player can unlock new Heroes and level them up by collecting toys from Blitz Boxes. Unlike the levels used to unlock upgrades, these level-ups persist across the entire game. Leveling Heroes up unlocks higher-tier upgrades, permanent stat buffs, more sticker spaces, and stronger versions of their upgrades.
Although the player can unlock toys for Obyn Greenfoot, he is currently unobtainable.
Monkeys
Monkeys are similar to Heroes, but have several differences. They do not have health and Bloons cannot hit them, and the player does not control them directly, as they follow the Hero instead. The player can add Monkeys to their team during a level by choosing them as upgrades; once added to the team, their upgrades start appearing whenever the player levels up. Each Monkey can only have up to five upgrades at a time. Monkeys come in three categories: Primary, Military, and Magic.
To level Monkeys up, the player has to use them in levels to earn their Monkey XP, then they can spend Gold to unlock their next level once they have enough.

Upgrades
Every Hero and Monkey has 18 upgrades, split into three upgrade paths and four upgrade tiers. Each path has one tier 1 and tier 3 upgrade and two tier 2 and tier 4 upgrades. When the Hero levels up, the game chooses three random upgrades or Monkeys of the ones available, and the player can only choose one. The player can also spend Bloonstone or Tokens to banish an upgrade, reroll their current upgrades, or pin an upgrade so it is guaranteed to appear again on the next level-up. Selecting an upgrade also pushes Bloons away from the Hero in a large radius.
Stickers
Stickers are items the player can equip outside of a level to apply passive buffs during a level, such as increasing the Hero's attack speed or experience earned when a Military Monkey is on the team. The player equips stickers by placing them on a grid, and they come in different shapes and sizes. The player can merge duplicate stickers to increase their effects, and they have higher-rarity variants that come with additional effects.
Bloons
During a level, the Bloons spawn across the map and constantly move towards the Hero. The number and strength of Bloons increases over time. There are also formations of Bloons that move in set directions, though the paths they take (telegraphed by red arrows appearing on the ground) attempts to intersect the Hero. When Bloons take damage, they get knocked back and lose layers. The health, movement speed, and number of layers depends on the type of Bloons. Bloons can also have Bloon Mods that give them additional properties. There are also Boss Bloons that have more complex behavior, and the player usually fights two of them per level.

Pre-release

On 7 September 2025, Tim Haywood, the composer of music for most Bloons games, stated that he was going to release a new soundtrack for an unannounced Bloons game in 2025.[7] On 13 November 2025, Modern Times Group released a financial report that confirmed that Ninja Kiwi would release new games in Q1 and Q2 2026.[8] Since Ninja Kiwi is planning to release Zombie Assault: Resurgence in Q2 2026, it implied that the game was planned for Q1 2026 originally.
Ninja Kiwi themselves revealed Bloons Blitz on 19 November 2025, with a short teaser video showing gameplay of a Tack Shooter walking and fighting several Red Bloons and Blue Bloons, describing it as a "new way to pop Bloons".[3] They later revealed the game's name, logo, and premise on 21 November 2025 with a short video of the game's key art and a clip of one of the game's music tracks, a cover of "Street Party".[9] The date the official website launched is unknown, though the domain was registered on 11 November 2025.[10] Ninja Kiwi is releasing a series of YouTube Shorts teasers leading up to the game's release, demonstrating features like the controls, teams, and upgrades.
